Jeff led everyone slowly into the asylum. He heard Jane's laugh in the distance and prepared himself for what he was about to see. He made his way through as if he had been there before...which he had. Some time ago, he had been admitted to this asylum, and two years later he had helped with it's destruction. He was the only survivor of a malicious destruction that he caused. Construction workers had started to rebuild this place, but Jeff had stalked them until they were too afraid to continue. He shook away the memories and continued to look for his beloved. Anna and the others were close behind. Anna remembered all of the great times she had shared with Tess. They'd known each other since they were thirteen. They were close...practically sisters...she wasn't going to give Tess up that easily. Everyone reminisced  about the memories they had made with Tess. No one understood what was so special about her...but they knew there was something, and they had yet to figure it out.

Jane's laughing started up again and it shook the group from their memories. "This way," Jeff whispered, "It's coming from my ol-I mean the padded room." Anna looked at Jeff, curious as to why he had paused in the middle of his sentence, but shook it away as nothing. Jeff slowly peeked into the room. He wasn't happy with what he saw, but it was better than what he had originally thought, and still fueled him with rage and hatred against the laughing, raven-haired psychopath. Laughing Jack was tied to a chair and beaten up roughly. Tess laid seemingly unconscious on a bed in the corner of the room. Her head was bleeding, she had bruises and scars on her face, arms and legs. Jeff was afraid she might not wake up,but he had a feeling she would...she had too.

Jeff and the others were in the middle of planning how this would work, when Jane spotted them. Anna hid the clever behind her back, while everybody else had their weapons at the ready. A smirk crept across Jane's face as she pulled her knife from her left boot. Everyone was on edge...but Anna remained calm, still holding the large knife behind her back. She took two steps towards Jane, who had her knife pointed at Anna and ready to strike. "Give Tess back to us." she said. Jane giggled. "Oh sweetie, you're so naive. You see, I don't believe Tess will be waking up anytime soon...and she was only bait to get the one I really wanted here. However, that doesn't mean I'll let you take her away so easily. I want to trade." Anna was skeptical, but remained calm. "And what, exactly, do you want to trade?" Jane smirked. "Give me Jeff, and you can have Tess." Anna looked from Jeff, to Tess, then back to Jeff, and then to Jane, who was waiting for an answer. Anna shook her head. "No  way, we're not trading people, that's immoral and disgusting." "Then no Tess." Anna gripped the clever tighter. "I swear to God, you better give her back right now, or I'll-" "You'll what?" Jane interrupted. "How could a pathetic human like possibly hurt someone as skilled as me? You're weak, Anna, and there's no way you could ever save Tess. Her heart rate has been decreasing ever since she was knocked unconscious. She'll be dead before sunrise." Jane spit at Anna's feet. That did it. Anna slashed at Jane's face, cutting her mask off. She watched in horror as it fell to the ground. Jane started laughing maniacally and, ever so slowly, raised her head to look at Anna. Anna held back the bile in her throat and slashed Jane's face again, making her scream out in pain. Jane held the part of her face that had been cut and hissed at Anna. She lunged for Anna, who moved out of the way just in time. Jane fell onto the floor face-first and groaned in pain. Anna snickered. Jane sat up and threw her knife at Anna, cutting her arm. She winced in pain and quickly grabbed where she had been injured. Jane stood up and glared at everyone, but held a smile on her face. "See? I can take a face-plant on the ground, and you can't even take a cut to the arm. I'd stop while you're ahead. Sally became frightened. She needed Anna to defeat Jane so they could get Tess back. Sally turned her gaze to Tess' motionless body. She was hooked up to a machine that was displaying her heart rate. It was slower than it should've been. Jane was right. If they didn't get Tess home before sunrise, she would be dead.
