As you extend your arms
To enclose something genuine,
With your face so bright
And a smile rich in compassion.
I stand there quite dazzled,
As if the clock had suddenly slowed,
A friend I consider a brother
Presenting a gift so priceless and true.
As a response to a kind offer,
I extend my arms and hugged him back.
Slowly it washed away a longing...
A hug from a sibling I can never have.
