_____________

For a second day on a row, pure rage guided Luna through the city. Every vein in her body was filled with true anger and disappointment as she quickly escalated the buildings and jumped from rooftop to rooftop. Tears of frustration began to accumulate on her eyelids as she jumped inside her room with a loud thud.

She tried to reach out for her daggers, but the moment her fingers made contact with the leather of the handle, the object dissolved before her own very eyes. Fear ignited inside her chest as she stared down at her black hand, the way her inner anger and darkness was starting to take over her hands, the way it dissipated through her wrist to her forearm.

A scream left her lips. A scream filled with fear and unspoken feelings she had bottled inside. A scream that almost made the room tremble and caught Leo's attention from the first floor.

"What the hell? Why are you– Ay cabrón!"

But Luna couldn't understand him. She glared at him, trying to understand the words that came out of his lips, they were only muffled sounds that she couldn't even process.

"Okay, calm down!" Leo cautiously walked towards her.

"This is your fault!" She yelled. "This is all your goddamn fault. Look at what I'm becoming because of you!"

Leo pursed his lips together. "You're being dramatic." But Luna was already trying to balance herself over him. "Stop it!"

"I'm becoming a living venom, you asshole!"

"I'm sure there's an explanation." He tried to reassure her. But it wasn't working. "What happened?"

Luna glared at him. "Leave!" The amount of force, feeling and anger she put on her voice was enough to make him leave.

She reached to close the door, but the moment her hand grabbed the door handle, it turned to dust. Her hand shook, and so did her entire body. The calmness she was trained to project during those type of situations was quickly forgotten from her mind, instead, she began crying. Letting the frustration out with every tear that cascaded from her cheek to her neck.

"Luna?"

Peter.

Hurriedly, she turned around, hiding her arms from his sight. Her heartbeat quickened as she felt his steps coming closer to her, but she only stepped as far as possible from him.

"Don't," she whispered. "Just leave, this isn't a good time."

Peter's heart fell to the floor. "What's wrong? Are you okay?"

"Please, stop. I need to be alone."

"Luna–"

"I'm doing this for you, idiot! I'm protecting you from me! Just leave!"

The next day was completely horrible. More because she tried to avoid Peter as much as she could. Her instincts kicked in whenever she felt slight annoyance or anger towards her insufferable classmates and her eyes quickly inspected her hands in search of any blackness.

She walked towards her locker in silence and juggled with her books before reaching to the lock and try to unlock it carefully. Her brown eyes traveled to her arm, checking that the blackness wasn't showing again, but it was only plain tanned skin. A sigh left her lips as she opened the locker, but something forced her to stop moving.

Her eyebrows shot up as she turned her head slightly to the side, only to find MJ staring at her from the corner. Their eyes met, and something inside Luna's body tensed, she straightened and returned the intensity of her glare, hoping to intimidate her enough to leave her alone. But MJ kept staring, until the bell began ringing loudly.

Frustratedly, she closed her locker and walked towards Spanish class with hesitation. Her feet guided her to the room, she felt as if her body was in automatic pilot. She wasn't completely sure how she managed to function, seeing that the events of the last day still clouded her thoughts.

"Luna," A voice that she well knew interrupted her, making her stop abruptly a few steps before the room. "I want to talk to you."

"Peter, please." She whispered. "Now it's not the time."

"Then when is it, uh?" He frowned. "You never talk to me, Luna. I'm getting tired of this."

Her face changed, and he noticed it immediately. "Peter," She sighed. "You don't want to be with me." Her voice lowered. "I–I think you're better off without me."

"Wait, what?" Now it was Peter's face that changed. "Don't say that."

"I just–" She looked up to meet his gaze, but her eyes stopped on someone behind the lockers. "Is that MJ?"

Peter followed her gaze, but the tall girl was already gone. "What? Where?" His eyes inspected the hall.

"Never mind." She sighed, making him turn his head back at her. "This is just as hard for me as it is for you."

"Why don't we talk about it after school?" He pleaded. Luna pursed her lips together. "There has to be a way to make this work."

"Peter–"

"Please, Luna." He almost reached to hold her hand, but she instinctively backed away holding her breath. "Hey–"

"Okay." She nodded after a pause. "See me after practice."

For all those who don't speak Spanish or aren't Hispanic:
Ay cabrón! = Holy shit!
(This isn't the exact translation but it's an equivalent of what the expression would sound in English)

Yeah, as you can tell, this OC is also Latina, and since Leo is her cousin, he is Latino as well. We love getting the representation we deserve!

Any Latinx readers? Comment if you are!

Also, after this chapter, things will start getting shape and Luna&Peter's relationship will develop! So stay tuned for more uhh... (I don't have a ship name for them yet) Luna&Peter scenes!!!
