Chapter 22

Previously on The Wolf Shifter's Love:

I watch him as he stares into the water.

"What are yo-" I don't get to finish before he dives into the water unexpectedly.

"Blue Dragon!" The others rush out of the forest.

'I hope they weren't there the whole time' I think suspiciously, narrowing my eyes.

Suddenly, the Blue Dragon emerges from the water holding a fish. He walks over to Kija and hands it to him. Kija looks shocked before he replies.

"Thank you, but couldn't you have said something?" He questions.

The Blue Dragon then proceeds to curl into a crouched position, shivering.

"Now what, big brother White Snake? He's freezing" Hak teases.

"You're blaming me?!" Kija exclaims.

'I'm conflicted. Should I shift and provide the Blue Dragon with the warmth of my fur? Or should I continue to hide my feelings from the group?'

Y/N POV

I stand there pondering what I should do, until I finally make my decision.

"Screw it!" I say, disregarding my ego.

The group look at me with confusion, due to my sudden exclamation, but I ignore their questioning stares.

I walk towards the shivering Blue Dragon, shifting mid walk. This causes even more confusion, as I shake out my fur. Once I reach him, I curl my body around his to transfer my warmth. Being a Wolf Shifter has it's perks, as my body temperature is higher than the average human. So, this means warming up the Blue Dragon is a simple and easy task.

The group stare at the scene, jaws dropped in shock. I feel heat rise to my cheeks in embarrassment, luckily for me they can't see me blush in wolf form.

The Blue Dragon gradually stops shivering and smiles at me.

'Don't look at me like that, it makes me feel weird'

What he does next shocks me. He wraps his arms around me in a hug. My eyes widen for a second, before closing in silent content.

"Thank you" He says quietly into my ear.

I'm snapped out of my trance when I hear a chorus of 'aww's'. We separate and I give out a grumble of annoyance. He just smiles at my irritation.

"How cute~" Hak teases "who knew the big bad wolf could be so adorable~" he continues.

I pin my ears back in embarrassment and turn my head away from the group.

'Shut up, stupid Hak'

"This is cute and everything, but we should get back to camp so we can dry off those wet clothes. They can't be very comfortable" Yoon interjects.

"You're right Yoon, lets all head back" Yona agrees, with a smile on her face.

I reluctantly stand up and we all head back to camp. I stay next to the Blue Dragon to allow him at least some warmth. He subconsciously pets my fur as we walk.

Once we arrive, the Blue Dragon and I follow Yoon towards the fire. Stopping, Yoon looks at me.

"Why don't you go over to the others while I sort out his clothes" he says.

I look at him with my head tilted in confusion. He raises an eyebrow and gives me a look that says 'really'. I suddenly click on to what he is referring to and let out a small squeak of embarrassment, frantically running towards the rest of the group.

I hear both of them chuckle as I stumble away.

We are all sit around the fire, eating the food Yoon has prepared. I'm still in my wolf form as I eat, with the Blue Dragon leaning against me. He's currently wearing his headdress as a substitute for his clothes and I have to say he does look pretty adorable right now.

I hadn't realised until recently that Kija was under the weather. Shows how much attention I was paying earlier.

"Aren't you cold? Would you like my cloak?" Yona asks the Blue Dragon.

"Thank you... Yona" he replies.

Everyone stares, shocked.

"D-did he just her highness by her first name?!"

"He really did..."

"..."

"I haven't heard my name in ages" Yona smiles at him happily.

After that, she happens to look in my direction, only to be frozen by a deadly glare. She lets out a nervous laugh, attempting to ignore it. The others sweat drop, while the Blue Dragon smirks slightly.

Yona awkwardly returns to the others and sits down.

"I think she's jealous" Hak states.

"Really? I didn't notice" Yoon retorts sarcastically.

(Small time skip)

"Blue Dragon, your clothes should be dry now" Yoon says, as he goes to clean up.

To save him some effort, I shift back and collect his clothes.

"Here" I say, smiling while handing him the clothes.

"Thanks" He says with the same smile.

He walks behind a large tree and changes, returning once fully dressed.

"Want to... go for a walk?" He asks.

I smile "sure".

We walk silently into the forest until we arrive at a beautiful field, illuminated by the moon light.

"How did you know this was here?" I question, still in awe at the scenery.

"My eyes... let me see long distances" he replies, smiling.

"Can I..." I start, looking down. "Can I see them?"

He is silent for a minute, before he takes my hand in his. I look up at him and he smiles, removing his mask in the process. I stare at his golden eyes in awe. Nothing could compare to to their beauty.

"They're beautiful" I breathe.

"Not as beautiful as yours" he replies confidently.

He links his fingers with my own, leaning closer. I follow his lead, leaning in. We're so close now that our breath mingles. Just as our lips are about to meet, we hear chatter coming in our direction. We quickly separate and he puts his mask back in its place.

Yona walks up to us, unaware of the previous events.

"Shin-ah. It means 'light of the moon'. So your name is... Shin-ah. Do you like it?" She says.

He nods and she smiles.

'For once I agree with you Yona. You did good, I like it'
