Teddy's messy hair brushed against my nose as his lips trailed down my neck. He gave me a tingling sensation that went through my whole body. His soft, wet lips felt like roses brushed against my shivering body. The sweat on our bodies glistened under the little light of the moon in the back of his truck. The night was hot and muggy but there was a perfect breeze that kept us outside for as long as we could just lay there.

When we got in the car, we couldn't keep our hands or lips off of each other. We pulled over at one point because Teddy couldn't focus on driving anymore. Our love was strong and spontaneous. When we kissed, I kept stopping to tell him I loved him. He responded by whispering the same in my ear. That made more tingles run through my body.

When he finally started driving again, we started jamming out to the radio. Our heads were bobbing, and we both filled the air with our off-key voices to some old classics.

"JUST BEAT IT! JUST BEAT IT!" we screamed for the world to hear.

When we got to Teddy's house, no one was home. He opened the door for me and picked me up, I wrapped my legs around his waist and clung to him like I was holding on for life. He ran me into the house, I couldn't help but giggle the whole time, and plopped me onto the couch. There he lay on top of me, singing the song "She's Got A Way" by Billy Joel. His kisses pelted my whole body. I sighed and grabbed his face. His hot cheeks were in my hands as I kissed his forhead.

"You are the only boy thats cared and respected me like you do. Not even my own father. Thank you." There was a long silence as we both replayed the current events in our lives through our minds. I could see it like a movie inside his shiny eyes.

Without a word he leaned forward and gently placed his soft, tender lips just barely on mine. As if to say "The pleasure is all mine."

Teddy lay next to me now, and held my body close to his. Feeling safe, I allowed myself to close my eyes and drift off on his couch. We lay there, snoring probably louder than an old man with a severe cold, in each other arms.

It was vibrating in my pocket. As I awoke to the stinging feeling on my leg and saw Teddy felt it too. I tried reaching for it but Teddy was in the way. After fumbling for the phone, I jokingly pushed him off of the couch and he rolled onto the floor, groaning. I couldn't help but let out a laugh as he helplessly looked up at me. My phone kept on going. I finally reached it and looked to read my caller's I.D.

I chucked it across the room. It hit the wall and toppled on the floor in it's self pity. I glared at it, as if it was the core of all my problems.

"What?" Teddy said, puzzled. He stood up to grab the phone. I saw his face go from confused boyfriend to furious, destructive boyfriend in a split second.

"What in the hell do you want?" he muttered into the phone. Rob was quick to speak. I heard his anger squeeze through the phone and into the room. I cringed just at the thought of him. Teddy stood up and walked into the kitchen. My body rose quickly and quietly followed behind him. My eyes peered around the corner between the living room and the kitchen to see where he was. Then I focused my ears to listen in on this heated conversation.

"You will never touch her again. Do you understand me? I don't think you're hearing me. I said- Okay now I'm gonna kick your ass. Where is this going to be?" I quickly shuffled across the smooth, tiled floor and grabbed onto Teddy's arm.

I whispered "No" a dozen times to get my point across. His eyes trailed the walls and the floor but never seemed to come across me.

Lots of girls may think that it's flattering for two guys to fight over you. Its a sign that you have two guys that are madly in love with you. So you're pretty, smart, usually a good sense of humor, you know... The perfect catch. Right now, this was the least bit flattering. The only reason Rob wanted to beat Teddy was because he hated him for taking away his play toy. Me. Teddy had gotten hurt enough because of me. Emotionally and physically. I couldn't let Rob's pot-head friends gang up on him in a fight that would just waste both of their times.

"Be alone, or be a coward." With that, Teddy slammmed his finger on the end button and slapped the phone in my hand. He grabbed his jacket and with smoke flaring from his nose, he rushed out the door. I ran out and slammed the car door shut when he tried to open it. His firey eyes looked at me.

"Please," I cried. "Don't do this. You're stronger than he is, I know that. But if he brings all of his friends, they could... They could do some awful things. Please just leave it alone."

Teddy grabbed my hand and slid it off of the car. He pulled me in for an embrace, then opened the car door for the second time and said, "He's going to leave you alone Sky." He got in the car and stared at the wheel to say it again, "He will leave you alone."

His pick-up truck swurved backwards and flew out of my sight in a minute's time. I quickly ran through the wide open door I had left banging against the side of the house. My fingers shook violently as I dialed Rachel's number. As soon as she answered, I spilled everything that was going down.

"Rob is going to kill Teddy. What am I going to do? Can you come pick me up?" Rachel was aware of how violent Rob was. So she took the time to call some friends of Teddy's to come along. They were the biggest, strongest guys on the football team. I squeezed Rachel tight after her car pulled into Teddy's driveway. We quickly started going down the road when we realized something urgently important.

"Wait. Where am I going?" Rachel broke the silence with her dumbfounded question. I said nothing as I sank down into my seat.

"I don't know."

The boys had offered we go to the football field to see if Teddy was there. They said he liked to go there to get some frusteration out and to relax himslef. But I knew the real place. Rachel drove by the field to be sure. He was nowhere in sight. Betting he'd be at the park, I offered we drive on that road. When we drove by the park, I inspected the parking lot of the park. When the reflection of his newly washed mirros hit my eyes, my voice ordered Rachel to stop the car. She did abruptly and asked what I was doing.

"I think he's here!" I said over my shoulder as I ran out of the car. My feet picked up speed as his car became nearer and nearer. My heart raced when I thought of what I could be running too. The fight could be here.

The progression of my footsteps were put to a stop, as I slowed to a walk in front of the car. Then they stopped. Eyeing Rachel's car, I walked closer to the trunk to peek inside. It was empty. My heart sank.

"Sky?" I turned sharply to face the familiar voice. He was on the swings, hands in his pockets, and his feet dragging in the sand. I ran to him in what seemed like a lifetime of not being near him. He stood up and caught me just in time as I fell into his arms.

With my hands stroking his hair, I whispered in his ear, "You're okay." He smiled.

"And so are you." Teddy twirled me around in his arms as I laughed for joy. He gently let me down to the ground and grabbed my hand. We walked to the trunk and he lifted me onto our humble abode. We lay there under the stars, again, to be together. To clear our heads. I looked over at him, and saw blood just above his eye brow.

"You're bleeding!" I said, examining his wound.

"Okay, he hit me once. But he was alone. And you were right, I'm stronger than him." He smiled and I smiled.

"Thank you. For fighting for me... and for being strong." I buried my head on his chest.

"No you, Sky," he said. "are the strongest person I know."
