August
"Hi daddy." Heaven smiled with syrup on her lips.
"Hey baby." I smiled back and kissed her on her forehead.
Tammy stood by the stove and continued to cook completely ignoring my presence. She had been giving me the silent treatment and a cold shoulder for the last week and a half. I thought by now that we'd be good but ever since we had that argument when I got home at 10pm that night shit hasn't been the same.
I had gotten home after a long as day and all I wanted to do was get in the bed with my wife and sleep.
Going in the kitchen I saw there was a plate for me in the microwave. I decided to eat first before going upstairs so I wouldn't have to come back down.
Once I was done I went to check on Heaven who was sound a sleep before going in my bedroom. Tammy was sitting on the edge of the bed putting on lotion so I walked over to her to try and kiss her but she turned her head making my lips meet her cheek.
"You still have an attitude."
"Im not in the mood August, leave me alone."
"Leave you alone? Yeah that's not gonna happen. Tell me what's wrong so you can drop this attitude."
"If you want to sit there and act like you don't know what the issue is then be my guest."
"Tammy use your words. Stop beating around the damn bush." I spoke getting upset.
"Ill use mine when you learn how to communicate to your wife about what the hell has you leave early and coming home late. It's been weeks August."
I could see the look of concern and anger in her eyes but I couldn't tell her what was going on.
"Tammy..."
"If you're not going to tell the truth then don't bother."
"Fuck Tammy I can't tell you but I'm not doing anything wrong!"
"Then why cant you tell me?! Are you still seeing her?" She asked referring to Asia.
"What? No. I told you I wouldn't."
She searched my face with her eyes and I could see them gloss over. I sighed not wanting this but there was nothing I could do.
"Is there another woman? Am i not enough anymore?"
I sighed and looked at the ceiling. I hated that this is where her mind was going. "Baby no. Im not seeing any other women."
"Then what is it? Because this is not normal August. Why won't you tell me?"
"Because I can't Tammy. Just give it some time and you'll understand."
She looked at me and chuckled. In that moment I knew shit was about to get real. I could handle her tears or her yelling at me but if she was upset and laughing I knew she was pissed.
She nodded her head and walked away from me. I stood in the same spot not really wanting to piss her off anymore than I already had.
"Get out."
"Get out? Fuck you mean get out?"
"Get out as in go sleep somewhere else. I don't want to lay next to you or talk to you since you can still keep things from me. Coming in late, leaving early. You got me absolutely fucked up August so get out of my room."
