Things weren't well in paradise with Draco and Delilah. After Ron getting poisoned, Delilah knew it was Draco. That's why he came to Slughorn's party. To give him the poison. Harry and Delilah were working on figuring out what Draco was doing. She wouldn't rat him out however. A part of her still cared for him. Delilah didn't want to admit she saw Draco buy the necklace.
"Delilah, could I speak to you for a moment?" Draco asked in a soft voice. She glanced at Harry who nodded. Delilah stood up and followed her boyfriend out of the library.
"Yes Malfoy?" She said coldly.
"What's going on? You're avoiding me, calling me Malfoy, hanging around Potter," he said, sneering the word Potter. "Why?" Delilah tried to hold her composure but couldn't.
"Why? I'll tell you why! I know what you're up to, or the gist of it!" She screamed out. Draco looked around. Delilah was drawing attention.
"Lower your voice," he growled softly. She just scoffed.
"You bought the necklace!" Delilah snarled, her face going red from anger. "It could've killed Katie!" Draco frowned. He did do that. The fact that Delilah got hurt by the necklace made him even more upset with himself.
"I never meant to hurt you," he whispered softly, grabbing her hand. She pulled it away quickly.
"You told Snape your plan was more important than me!" Delilah screamed the last part. A few nearby Hufflepuffs started to scurry away.
"I was lying. He needed to believe that, I love you Delilah!" Draco said, trying to grab her hand again.
"Don't touch me!" She growled, pulling her hand away once again. "You poisoned Ron! On my birthday, his birthday, no less!"
"I didn't mean to poison him," he whispered. Delilah took a deep breath. She was nowhere near done.
"You promised me you wouldn't become one of them," Delilah said, whispering the last part. A tear fell down her face. "You became one of them. One of the people who murdered my FAMILY! You lied to me!" Her tears came out faster. Draco was upset, but he wasn't just going to let her yell at him.
"What about you? You've been hanging out with Potter! Going to Slughorn's party, with him!" He yelled. Now some Ravenclaws, few Hufflepuffs, and some Gryffindor were watching the scene.
"He needed someone to go with! So we went as friends!" Delilah screamed, not caring that at least twenty people were watching her.
"Are they breaking up?" A small voice asked from the crowd.
"He understands what it's like to have your family murdered in front of you! Harry understands what it's like to survive well everyone you loved died! He gets what it's like to have his family be targeted by Voldemort!" She yelled. Gasps came from everyone's mouths, even Draco's. She said his name.
"Lila, calm down," he said softly.
"Don't call me that - you - Death Eater!" Delilah screamed. Everyone gasped again. More people had gathered around. Shockingly no teachers.
"Delilah, don't - "
"Don't say the truth? I hope you're happy being with your Death Eater family! I hope you go to Azkaban!" She shouted before pushing Draco backwards. He stumbled and fell down. Delilah turned to the crowd. "Get out of here!"
"Yes," muttered one of the Ravenclaws. Everyone left as quick as a Firebolt. Delilah ran towards the Astronomy Tower. As she got higher and higher, the more relaxed she felt. She took a step on the ledge. Delilah inhaled deeply before looking down.
"What is that girl doing up there?" A first year boy asked, pointing at Delilah. The girl next to him shrugged.
"Is she going to jump?" A second boy asked.
"We should get Hagrid!" The girl exclaimed. Delilah stepped off the ledge and began to fall quickly.
"Hagrid!" The three first years screamed, running over to his hut.
"This girl just jumped off the Astronomy Tower!" The first boy said. The four ran over to the tower.
"Delilah!" Hagrid said, scooping her up in his arms. "Go tell Madam Pomfrey I'm coming with a nearly dead girl! Go!" The first years nodded and ran as fast as they could.
