I fell to the gravel with a thud, the rocks puncturing into my skin. "Ugh," I groaned. Looking up, the sun was blinding me so I could only see their silhouettes, a shorter, scrawny guy and a tall, buffed dude.
"I told you to stay away from him, didn't I?" My heart sunk as I heard his voice. Quickly scrambling to my feet, I looked up to see Victor and Belch. Victor had his arms crossed over his chest, glaring at me, while Belch leaned against the hood of his Trans Am, no particular emotion splayed across his face.
"I d-don't know what you're talking about." I stuttered.
Victor came up and pushed me back, and I stumbled to keep on my feet. "Don't play fucking stupid with me. We came over to his house this morning, and he wasn't there." He motioned to him and Belch, "I got a feelin', so we cut through the woods to your house and guess what we see? Damn Bowers is climbing outta your window." I gulped and took a wary step back.
"Victor, we were just-"
"I know what y'all were doin'," he cut me off. "And I warned you, but you obviously couldn't get that through your thick ass skull." He poked my forehead, rather harshly.
At this point, I was getting kinda mad and irritated with him. Why didn't he want me with Henry? "I don't understand, what's your problem with me and Henry?"
"My problem?" He raised his voice slightly. "My problem is you." He pushed me again. I looked behind Victor to notice that Belch was still in the same position as earlier, except he had a kind of remorseful look. "We were doing fine without you, and now all of a sudden Henry's taken such a huge interest in you. He's been all quiet and distant than he normally is. It's like he's got some soft side for you, and it's really starting to piss me the fuck off."
"What Henry and I do is our business, so why don't you just piss off." I pushed him away from me and flipped him the bird.
That's when, out of nowhere, Belch comes up and grabs me by both of my under arms, lifting me off the ground. "Put me down!" I scream at him, but he doesn't listen. Instead, he carries me over to a tree and pushes me against it, pinning my arms down so I couldn't get away from him. He steps to the side, still holding me down, while Victor comes up and gets in my face.
"Piss off?" Victor growled, his eyes blazing. He slams a hand down on the tree, barely an inch away from my ear, making me flinch back. "I'll show you something to, 'piss off' about!" Victor raises a fist, ready to punch me, but Belch's voice makes him stop.
"Vic... I don't think this is such a good idea." Belch shakes his head, giving Victor a pleading look. "You said we were just gonna scare her, not hit her."
"Well, I changed my fucking mind." Victor glances toward Belch, letting his defenses come down a little and I take that as my chance. I throw my knee up, hitting Vic straight in the place where the sun don't shine. He groans and doubles over, holding onto his area. Belch's grip loosens on my arms, him clearly being in shock. I scurry out of his hands and slide away from the tree and them.
"You bitch," Victor hisses out. He looks up at Belch, "What are doing just standing there? Get her!" Vic orders out, and I start running.
"No." I hear Belch say, and, being curious, I turned around to see him shaking his head. I give him a quizzical look. He was helping me. Why?
