I tried to explain anxiety to someone the other day. As it’s like holding a hot cup of tea, and feeling yourself being about to sneeze. Or walking down stairs and thinking there’s one extra step, and your stomach lurches as you stumble to the bottom. But these feelings aren’t fleeting, they can stay with you all day like invisible wasps that are buzzing around your head, and I so desperately want them to leave. But I’m still brave – just my version of brave is sitting through a two hour lecture and not running out of the room, and instead of climbing mountains, I climb out of bed every day. My successes are no smaller than yours, they’re just different.
