An-Based on the song 'she's kinda hot tho' by five seconds of summer but your not the girlfriend.
You watched as they argued, as she tore him to shreds and yet how he was the one who was apologetic. You knew that if you were in her position you would never have treated Patrick like this. You had been his best friend for 5 years, always stuck by his side, been someone to talk to whenever he was down. All that changed when he started dating Trish. She was a horrible person yet she was popular and not to mention gorgeous with her long blonde hair and blue eyes. You knew that he was only dating her to get with the guys.
You and him both had been outsiders all of your lives and he had complained to you for hours and hours on how much he wanted to be like the other boys. You had always reminded him as to how not all the boys were amazing singers like him or were in a band. That was what had attracted Trish in the first place. However, he just ignored you every time.
Well, finally he had got what he always wanted and in the process he left you in the dust. Every lunch, you sat in the corner all on your own watching him laughing, his arm draped around his shoulders and watching as they kissed. He never talked to you as much as he used to and you missed his constant chatter.
You got up from your table to put your rubbish in the bin when suddenly you tripped over a hard object and almost crashed into the floor. Surprised and slightly peed off, you turned around to see that it was none other than Darren Fields, one of the guys that Patrick hung out with. You watched as they laughed at you and to your horror, you saw that your closest friend for years was laughing along with them. The one boy you had ever had a crush on was treating you like a piece of filth.
Suddenly something inside of you snapped. You couldn't take it anymore you gathered up your tray and took the contents of your tray over to their table, a fake smile plastered on their face. They watched you in confusion as you faced Darren,
"You're all a bunch of a bastards."And with that you turned to Patrick and dumped all of contents in your tray and spilt on his head and everyone around you gasped. You put your hand on the table and stared into his brown eyes. "I thought you weren't like them," You spat, rage coursing through me, "I guess I was wrong. You left me with no one else Patrick, no one! I can't believe I had a crush on you!" Everyone around the table were silent and you covered your hand in shock. You had just admitted my feelings to the whole table. Idiot, you thought, idiot, idiot, idiot!
"Look, people like you don't even deserve to look at us. So pack up your bags and crawl back into the hole that you cane from." Trish said, disgust written across her face, rubbing Patrick's arm lovingly.
You retaliated with, "Oh please, we all know that you're secretly having an affair with Micheal." Once again you covered my mouth with your hand in shock. You had caught her and Micheal kissing outside of my house as you were walking home from school. She had made you swear not to tell anyone or she would make sure that you never spoke to Patrick again. At the time, you couldn't bear the thought and obviously agreed.
"Trish is that true?" Patrick looked at her, hurt in his eyes as he watched her stutter trying to come up with a valid explanation, Micheal looking guiltily away from the table, rubbing the back of his head. Instead, Trish turned to you and gave you a horrific death glare, one that sent a shiver down my spine.
"You horrible bitch!"You felt the connection of her hand across her cheek and you lurched back. Patrick had grabbed Trish's wrist and pulled her back before she could hit you more. You ran out of there, tears streaming down your face and feeling humiliated. You ran out of the school building towards your house and locked yourself in your room where you completely broke down. Your phone rang endlessly yet you ignored every single call, your head buried in your pillow.
-
It had been a few hours and you had finally stopped crying. You lay facing the ceiling in your bedroom thinking of Patrick. Thinking of the times that you had spent together, like the beach holiday that you went with his family, when you dragged him along to come shopping with you and how you came to his very first concert. Those were the good times before Trish cane along and spoiled everything. For years you had asked the same question: Why couldn't he love me?
Your thoughts were interrupted by a knock at the door and you reluctantly got up to answer it. You were surprised to see Patrick standing there, smiling down at you sheepishly. You went to slam the door in his face yet he caught it with his hand,
"Wait please! I know you have every right to be mad at me but just hear me out please!" You hesitated but eventually gave in and invited him in to the living room. You both sat in silence for a while, awkwardly sitting in opposite ends of the sofa. Patrick soon spoke up,
"I've been a really bad friend. I thought that I would be happy being popular and having the girl of every man's dreams. And today seeing the look of hurt on your face while everyone, even me, was laughing at you broke me. This was the girl who I had grown up with since middle school." You listened and you could hear the sincerity in his voice with every word.
"I only went with Trish for the popularity and I was blinded by her looks. She was a princess and fell for her. Yet when you said today about the affair, it was like everything made sense. Her disappearances, the way she would always leave me at a party. Those were the signs that I was too dumb to spot."
"Look Y/N, today made me realise how much I had missed you. The way you were so confident when you stood up to Darren and how you poured your food all over me head. It made me realise how much I love you. And I know that it's a cheesy thing to say but I catch myself looking at you every day. I never questioned it until now." He looked at you pleadingly waiting for a response. You looked at him before your wall caved in and you grabbed his face and kissed him.
Your lips moved in sync and it was like the stars had aligned. You felt as though both your bodies had become one and he kissed back with o much passion. Eventually you both broke away and smiled at each other giddily. "I take it that I'm forgiven?" Patrick muttered and you nodded.
From then on, Patrick never once hung out with the popular guys again and soon his band, Fallout Boy, began selling songs worldwide. Trish tried to talk to Patrick when you were around yet he just ignored her completely, much to your satisfaction. And from then on, your life was complete and long as you were together.
