Mirror illusion

I look at the girl from across the room and wonder what things destroyed her
The cuts bleeding down her arms were stained with black tears streaming down her face
She shook with each breath, her ribs showing through her clothes
Her hair hanging on to her skin like seams ready to tear.
She looks up into the mirror
Hating the pale thing she saw
She snarled her yellow tinted teeth
Clenched her fist till her knuckles turned white
And threw the gun across the room in a bloodcurdling screech.

It was all an illusion

Blood stained the walls of the bathroom
Some Rose fresh
And some crimson old
But each splatter
Each drop is a memory of who hurt you
In turn you hurt yourself...
Didn't you.

It was all an illusion

She Closes her eyes
And takes a breath
Just one last shallow breath

It was all an illusion

She puts that cold metal to her forehead
Tears streaming down her cheeks
Thoughts racing through her mind
Wondering if heaven is real.
Could my sins be washed off those walls?
Could my debts be repaid?

It was all an illusion
It was all an illusion
It was all an illusion

Bang!

You're on the floor now
Death overwhelming you
That girl...
That thing in the mirror...
That was you...
Goodbye mother
Goodbye father
Tell my friends I am sorry
I didn't know my demons were this close
I did not know they would win.
Not this time...
Not this time...
Not this time...
Maybe this time...

Was it really all an illusion?
