"Hey, guys!" I greeted the four Marauders, who were seated in the library (surprisingly) and were talking in hushed tones.

"Hey, (Y/N)." They said in unison, and in a sad tone.

"Looks like somebody's sad." I tease, plopping down on an empty seat, next to Remus.

Remus Lupin. My boyfriend, and the man who I am head-over-heels in love with. He smiled at me and I returned it, the butterflies erupting in my stomach.

"It's nothing, really." James says.

"Well, if you call Remus' transformation nothing." Sirius snorted, and I grimaced; it was true, the full moon would be coming within a few days. The day after tomorrow, to be exact.

"Rem, it'll be fine. It always is, isn't it?" I asked, my eyebrows furrowed.

"Yes, but, the closer the full moon gets I get more nervous and agitated." He looked around at the table, "I feel like I will hurt myself the most this time."

I scoffed, but the insides of my stomach churn; I was extremely worried for him, "Honestly, Lupin, that makes no sense. In fact, I was thinking to come with you guys during the-"

"NOO!" The boys screeched, earning a 'shush otherwise get out' from the annoyed Miss Pince.

"Dumbledore will not like it!" Peter yelled.

"What, why not? I wanna help!" I demanded.

Remus sighed through his mouth and told the rest of the Marauders to leave. He stood up and took my hand and pulled me to the Astronomy section of books, because it seemed isolated. He then turned to me and clasped my hands, "I don't want to hurt you, Y/N. The Tranformations-"

"Remus, I'll be fine." I interupted him.

"(Y/N), I know you want to help, but please, you do not know what happens to myself when I transform into a monster." Remus begged.

"Let me learn then." I said, stubbornly.

Remus developed a faint smile, "You are so bloody stubborn."

"I care, that's why."

"Remind me again, what did I do to deserve someone like you?" Remus pulled me in a hug, as I rest my head on his chest.

"You loved her back. That's enough for her." I murmured and hug him back, both of us savouring the moment.

The night had come, and the white orb hung in the sky taunting me as a sharp screechbcut through the icy cold air, adding to the eeriness. The 5 of us were in the Shrieking Shack. Remus' behaviour was changing slowly. I locked eyes with him as he nodded and gave me a smile, that reassured me. In a blink of an eye I saw Remus transform and my heart was in my throat.

"(Y/N), don't!!" I heard James yell in my ear, but I surged forward, just to be pulled back by Sirius. Tears pricked my eyes as I saw the Transformed Remus scratch and claw himself.

"Remus." I whispered, my cheeks wet and lips quivering as I heard the wolf-ish screams from Remus.

Sirius turns me around and pulls me in a hug, "Just calm down." I cry into his chest, imagining the pain Remus feels everytime he turns into a werewolf.

It took a few hours, but eventually, the screeching and howling stopped. I wiped my tears, and looked through the window of the Shrieking Shack: the moon was not in sight, and from where we were standing, there was no wolf.

"Wormtail, go check." James waves to Peter, who nodded.

He came back a minute later and said," He's lying on the floor, come see him quick."

I burst into the room and saw a figure on the floor, and ran towards it. I took his hand and checked for a pulse.

Nothing.

For a second my heart dropped and then, suddenly, I could feel his life just under my finger. I breathed a sigh of relief and kissed the pulse point.

"Let's take him to Pomfrey." Peter said and with the help of the rest of us we took him to the infirmary.

Two days. It took two freaking day for Remus to wake up from his slumber.

I was in my Divination class when James whispered, "Remus woke up."

After class, I had stood up hurriedly and made my way to the hospital wing. There I saw that boy, who had the audicity to grin at me, when I literally saw him claw himself just the previous night.

I threw my bag on a chair at the side and hugged him, "Missed me much?" Remus grinned.

I sniffled and he suddenly realising that I was crying. He pulled back and wiped off my tears, "This is why I didn't want you to come."

"I didn't know it would be so bad!" I told him, sitting on the nearby chair.

Remus looked at me in the eye and began, but I cut him off, "I'm sorry."

Remus chuckled, "What on earth for?"

"For not actually being able to help you during these times. I really wanted to help you..." I trailed off, looking at Remus' expression.

"(Y/N), I know it's hard, but I can handle it, you don't need to worry." Remus said, his eyes showing sadness.

I wiped my eyes and said without thinking, "I love you."

Remus looked at my eyes, and he smiled, "I love you, too."

Maybe he was right. There were some things we can't help a person with, but being with that person is probably enough.
