Mr. Mask asked me to come his office at Cape Canaveral tomorrow morning. It was going to be really hard to go back to that place. Not because it's the last place I saw my dad or anything, but because I had nowhere to stay tonight and no way to get there in the morning. He assured me it was okay and I could just come home with him now, like a lost alley cat.

Oh shit. Beefer!

Well, he was old and a pain in the ass anyways. Rest in peace buddy.

We went straight to his office that night. Apparently he wasn't comfortable taking me to his house. Oh well.

"You can stay here tonight, I will be back in the morning and we can talk about your new job. You can sleep on the couch over there. Hope that is okay." Mask pointed to a couch that would have cost more than my entire apartment, with the restaurant included.

"Thank you, it's honestly an improvement from the last place I was staying."

"I'm sorry to hear that." Mask said seriously and left. He just left. Not another word.

Whatever, I was good at sleeping so I might as well get some before starting my new life tomorrow. I laid down and slept.

"Good morning Spacelli."

"Please, call me Ciro." I said to the voice.

"You shouldn't shy away from your name, you only get one and your father gave you a good one."

What the hell, that voice, it sounded so familiar. I opened my eyes to see Susan. Now 10 years older, she somehow looked younger.

"Susan? You still work here? What the hell, why didn't you come looking for me? My father asked YOU to look after me, and you didn't even care to look for me?" I felt all this anger I never knew I had until now.

"Calm down Spacelli. I did look for you, for about 25 minutes. It's not my fault you ran away after your dad turned terrorist."

"Shut your mouth, he never did anything wrong! I'll find out one day and you'll see!" I was on the verge of tears again. I never used to cry ever. Now, this was about to be the second time in 24 hours. This sucked.

"Is everything okay in here? Susan what are you doing in here? Get out of here, I heard of your past with Spacelli, don't terrorize the man." Mask had entered the room.

"I can't believe you let this scum into our building. As your VP I wish you would consult me on such matters." Susan said.

"Who the hell made you VP of anything? You couldn't even keep track of a 12 year old 10 years ago and now you're in charge of a whole company?" I spit out at her.

"Calm down Ciro, she is very good at her job. Susan, please leave. That scum saved my life, now I am going to save his." Mask said cool and collected.

"Listen here, I don't need to be your little charity case, I will leave right now if that's all you see me as is a person to make yourself feel better!" I was seething.

"Ciro please, calm down. It is nothing like that. You are just mad at Susan. Everything will be made clear in about an hour. We are going to have a press meeting right now, and then we will get to work on your new job." Mask said as Susan stormed out.

Good, I still wanted to talk to the press anyways, this was perfect.

"Hello everyone, the reports of Mr. Qin of CSNA and myself being caught in a fire last night are true." Mask echoed across a loud speaker. Reporters broke into a chatter, raising their recorders and cameras in the air trying to ask their question the loudest. He continued. "We are both doing fine, thanks to the heroic acts of a man living above the restaurant who came downstairs and saved us. Thank you, Ciro Spacelli!" Mask said expecting applause, instead the media, like they seldom do, went quiet.

"Did he say Spacelli?"

"Is that really Spacelli's kid?"

Reporters all whispered among themselves. Mask waved me on stage, so I walked up there.

"This man right here has not only saved my life, but he has saved SpaceX!" Mask yelled.

What the hell did he mean I saved SpaceX? An arrogant sumbitch, isn't he? He thinks SpaceX would fail if he died? Hahahahahahaha. They'd get someone else in there so fast he would be a distant memory. I would tell him all this after my check cleared. Mask continued again.

"That's right! The son of Spacelli has volunteered to take the next giant leap for mankind! He will be the first man to step foot on Mars!"

Oh, fuck.
