A mask

It's that twisted feeling you get on the inside
Usually, but maybe not, it's something you can hide
Constant paranoia, though no one can see
Your ashamed you can never show who you want to be
The sadness and worries all bottled up
You want to scream at everyone to shut up
The smile you show, no one thinks that it's fake
Because the mask you wear is completely opaque
Soon frustration and anger all come together
When one small thing loosens the tether
Now your drowning in what you once called joy
It's time everyone knew it was all just a ploy
