Day 3 & 4

"We have a mission, let's go Amy"

Their moment was then interrupted then, Amy suddenly stood up. She saw Shadow standing by her door.

"What?! what time is it?"- Amy asked him.

"9:00 AM, Knuckles wants us to look for the Chaos Emeralds"- Shadow said.

"What? Now?"

"Yes, come on, we need to go to him and get instructions"

Amy then left Sonic on the bed got ready for her mission, which was her first in a while since Sonic supposedly death. Sonic also got up and got ready. He missed going out and taking long runs , hopefully he could be assigned to his first mission as part of the r
Resistance as well.

"We have no time to lose, we are going to look for the last remaining two Chaos Emeralds"- Knuckles began. He turned on the main computer of the headquarters room and began explaining his plan.

"Amy and Shadow, we need you both to explore the south side of 'Fordibben Forest', we have reseved strong Chaos signals in this area, also the North side of 'Fordibben Forest', Sonic and Silver will re-search this area as well. Both sides are really dangerous, it's not something rookies can do, at least they are not ready for this"- Knuckles said, giving everyone a strong look.

"If you are unable to collect the chaos emerald, or if you feel like you are in danger, then please let us know through your communicators"- Knuckles added.

"Where is Tails?"- Amy asked.

"He left this morning, he said he wanted to work on a personal project, by himself"

"Oh...I see"- Amy said, she was sad that Tails left without saying goodbye, but she knew he had his reasons.

"What are we waiting for? Let's get this mission over with"- Shadow said and deep down he was glad that his first mission as part of the Resistance was with Amy.

Amy and Shadow kept walking and walking, the forest was very vast, and without a proper map, people would for sure get lost forever in here.

"We have kept looking for hours, it's so strange we haven't even seen any clues for the Chaos Emerald"- Amy said to herself.

"Yeah..its.. a bit strange"- Shadow said to her, and Amy was really surprised that Shadow even got the time to respond to her.

"It's getting late, we should camp here and wait for the first light to began exploring again."- Shadow added and so they did, they build up a bonfire and they separately slept in their sleeping bags. The sky was beautiful as the stars illuminated the night. The sound of nature, the nice atmosphere, everything created the perfect mood for romance.

"Shadow...have you ever loved someone?"

"you must be stupid if you think I am going to answer that"

"I was just trying to make a conversation idiot, but you know what, you are right, I must be stupid thinking that you ever loved someone at all"- Amy said and she turns around and gave Shadow her back. Shadow sighed and responded:

"I know you don't mean the 'family' type of love but...You talk as if we had never spoken about Maria before"- Shadow said, looking up at the stars and Amy slowly faced Shadow again, she knew that talking about Maria wasn't an easy topic, they have only talked about it once, when they were young and inexperienced, years ago in the Colony Ark. After that, she thought this will be a forbidden topic, something not allowed to talk about, will this be the first time she would have a normal heart to heart conversation with him.
