The next day Zoey and Jaeden had decided to meet up at the same basketball court they had met at in the first place. From there they just decided to walk around the neighborhood until they thought of something to do. During that time the two got to learn even more about each other.
Zoey learned that Jaeden had an older sister—the fact that he was taller than her was mostly the main reason he brought it up. Meanwhile Jaeden learned how Zoey once had an obsession over all things Harry Potter. She even admitted how she probably still owned a cloak. She also admitted that said cloak was probably stuffed at the back of her closet along with other Harry Potter merchandise.
As of right now, the duo were taking time to recap on everything they had gotten to know about each other. Jaeden began by saying, "Okay. So far I know that your favorite artist is Halsey — whoever that is. You've lived in the same house your whole life. You have two brothers; Zach and Noah. You used to be in love with Harry Potter. Um...your two favorite words are boysenberries and zucchini. And your favorite food is Panzanella."
Zoey jumped excitedly, happy that he was able to remember those specific facts about her. "Yes!" she yelled, making the split-second decision to give Jaeden a high five. "And for you! You have an older sister. You were originally born in Pennsylvania. You love food although you didn't specify what kinds! Uh... Um... Crap!" Zoey quickly stopped, facing the taller boy with a frown upon her lips. "You didn't tell me anything else."
Jaeden laughed. He knew that without telling her as much about himself as she had told him about herself would eventually make her go insane. Especially because he already knew something about her that he probably shouldn't know. Much like how Peyton knew something about him that she shouldn't know as well, all sighs pointing right back to Jack Grazer.
He couldn't keep a secret and that was something both Jaeden and Zoey knew. Either he told one person and made them swear to never tell a soul or he told a huge group of people on accident. Usually it was the latter of the two that was bound to happen. But for Jaeden it was a different story.
Jack had told him something very personal about Zoey even before he actually started talking to her. He didn't even know who she was and he had already obtained some information about the girl! Yes, Jaeden knew Zoey was the type of person that kept important details about themselves secret for as long as possible, but he didn't want to be the person she keeps everything from.
He wouldn't go behind her back and consult Jack, Noah, or anyone else she knows she can trust because that definitely wouldn't help him earn her trust. He wanted her trust more than anything. At this point he can only say he's earned about seventeen percent of her trust. And who can blame him if he were to say he wanted a hundred.

"Dude!" yelled Zoey, her voice drifting to Jaeden's ears over the crowd they now stood in. "There's cotton candy here."
Before the poor boy could even react, his companion was already grabbing him by the hand. The sudden action surprised them both but neither of them did anything to stop it. Instead Zoey ran further down the boardwalk, Jaeden right behind her, dodging past people left and right.
They had reached the small, business on wheels within a couple seconds—it hadn't even been that far away. Zoey had purchased a large bag of blue cotton candy that they both intended on sharing before they continued their walk. But so far they hadn't run into any of their fans which they were both very happy about.
And for the rest of the day they had just walked...and talked. But before they left Zoey knew there was one last place she wanted to go. Once again, she was grabbing for Jaeden's hand and pulling him behind her as they pushed through even thicker crowds than before.
Zoey ran to the ending of the boardwalk, hopping up onto a short block of wood that had been placed just before the railing. She held her arms out at her sides, taking in a deep breath of the salty oceanside air. She looked odd just awkwardly standing up there while Jaeden watched.
After a moment of her just standing there, Jaeden spoke up. "What are you doing?" he asked. He shielded his eyes from the suns rays with her hand, looking up at his friend.
"I'm pretending to be Rose," she responded, glaring out at the waves crashing against the shore.
"Does that make me Jack?"
Zoey shook her head, finally allowing her arms to drop down at her sides lamely. "No," she said, her face completely free of any emotions. "Because Jack died. And you—" she paused, jumping down from the platform "—are not going anywhere."
AUTHORS NOTE:
Oof! Leah...
Back at it again with the horrible chapters. And also with the long periods of absences. Those are my specialty's and they shouldn't be. Help!
