Sᴋʏᴇ ʟᴀɪᴅ ᴏɴ her back within the bed she was in. A rough sheet covered her body with her arms by her side as she laid completely still. She had yet to wake up. The smoke grenades had done more than what the Mountain Men had wanted it to. Ever since they brought the delinquents in, Skye has been in a coma. Granted it's only been a day since they brought them in, but most of the others had already woken up and were roaming among the Mountain Men.

On the outside, it seems as if nothing were going on inside of Skye's head, but on the inside flashes of memories flood through her brain. Memories she thought she had lost. Memories that would make most people sick to their stomachs to witness. Memories of her parents.

"Sweetheart, it won't hurt. It'll be just a little scratch. Just like the other times," Skye's mother, Teresa, said as she came closer to Skye with the kitchen knife in her hand. Tears welled up inside Skye's eyes, and she was too afraid to move.

"Why are you doing this? Did I do something wrong, mama?" Skye asked in a small voice, she was only eight-years-old.

"No, no, honey. It's just something mama's gotta do. You want to help mama, don't you?"

"Yeah." Skye wiped the tears from her eyes.

"Alright, now lift up your shirt so mama can see your belly."

Skye does what she is asked. She doesn't see the knife touch her, but she can feel it slice through her skin. A scream echos through the room as her brain realizes what she's feeling is pain. It wasn't like last time. Last time it was only a small cut, but when Skye looked down at the place just below her ribcage, the cut was longer and deeper.

Banging on the door caused Teresa to glare down at Skye with disapproval. Placing the knife in the sink quietly, Teresa went to answer the door. Skye had been sitting at the kitchen table, and from the door, no one could see from her chest down. At the door, a dark-skinned man Skye had recognized to be their neighbor stood there peeking in. He could tell Skye was crying, but turned to speak with her mother instead.

"Is she alright? I heard her scream," the man said.

Teresa waved her hand in dismissal and said, "Oh, yeah. She's fine. She just fell down and cut herself on a sharp corner."

The man and Skye made eye contact. He looked as if he was going to say something else, but he just smiled at her and her mother.

"Alright, just making sure. You two have a good night." He stepped away from the door, and Teresa shut it behind him. Her mother's blue eyes landed on Skye as the pale skin on her face became red.

"That man has no right barging in on our business. Charles Pike thinks he's all high and mighty walking around the station like he's somebody." Teresa walked over to the sink to clean off the knife before she even thought of taking care of Skye.

Murphy fidgets with the tourniquet for his leg as Raven wipes her mouth free of the blood she'd just thrown up. A dead Grounder lays on the floor of the dropship after Raven shot him for coming inside. She almost shot Murphy as well, but the gun was out of bullets. Now, the two sit in silence, trying to stay alive. Raven looks over at Murphy, glaring at him.

"How'd you get to be such a dick, Murphy?" Raven asks.

Murphy takes off the tourniquet and sighs, "I'm sorry for shooting you. Okay? Is that what you want to hear?"

Raven disregards everything he said and retorts, "Let me guess, Mommy and Daddy didn't love you."

"No, they loved me," Murphy corrects, staring off while thinking about his parents and replacing the tourniquet with a new one.

"Are you gonna cry, Murphy?"

"Screw you, Raven."

She insists, "No, tell me. I want to know. How does a kid who's loved by his parents turn into a murdering psychopath?"

Murphy finishes tying the new tourniquet on and draws a shaky breath.

"He gets the flu." Raven scoffs. "His father steals medicine that turns out wouldn't have helped anyway." He glances up at the injured girl who can see the tears in his eyes. "Gets floated for it, and, uh, his mother, she starts drinking pretty heavily after that, and-" he pauses as he remembers the sight of his mother in a drunken state. "Last words she says to him before he finds her in a pool of her own vomit is that-is that he killed his father."

Raven won't let herself show him that she's sorry for him so she says, "Boo-hoo."

"I don't think I would've made it this far without Skye," Murphy adds.

Raven scoffs, "Yeah, then you shot her, too."

Mama was having a really bad day. As soon as dad left for work, she wasn't having any bullshit. Skye didn't understand what was wrong since nothing had happened between her and dad, and she didn't believe she'd done anything to ruin her day. Skye heard the knife before she saw it, and tears immediately started streaming down her face.

"Oh, stop that, would you?" As the weeks turned into months of slicing open her skin, Teresa was through hearing her daughter cry about it. She'd finally gotten the girl to not make any noise, now she just had to get her to stop crying so damn much. Skye nodded her head and turned herself around, lifting her shirt to expose her back. Teresa had started on her back to give her stomach enough time to heal. Later, it would alternate until she was forced to start carving Skye's arms and chest. It took eight years before her entire top half of her body, front and back-excluding her neck and face-was covered in scars or healing wounds. But that didn't stop Teresa.

Bellamy and Finn are waiting outside of camp as the Guard inspects inside to make sure it's safe. It is killing both of the boys to have to wait as the adults takeover. Bellamy can't stop pacing, waiting to see any sign of his friends-of Skye. All Finn could do was sit on the ground, bouncing his leg, as he waits with Bellamy and worries about Clarke and Raven.

"We need a stretcher!" A man says from inside the camp. The two try to run for the entrance, but the Guards watching the area kept them from doing so. Bellamy and Finn share a look and nod. At the same time, they take off running towards the secret tunnels into the camp. They make it through and the first thing they see is ash and skeleton's of Grounder bodies. The smell of burning human flesh still lingering in the air.
