Death Valley

Prologue

I held my breath as it walked past my shaken soul. I never dreamed of the world having such malevolent creatures. Creatures that could terrorize and kill off people as fast as they could. I should have listened. We all should have. But it was too late. My family would never find me. That thought hit me like a train with a person in its mighty grip. Then I remembered something. My iPod.

I pulled out my iPod carefully and turned on its bright screen, praying it would turn on. As the light shocked my exhausted eyes, I scrolled until I found the camera. I took a deep breath, and began the recording.

"Mom. Dad. Anyone watching this. If you are watching this video, I am sure I am long gone by now. But I'm not coming back. I wish I could, but they captured us. The creatures are gonna kill me at any given moment. I just want to tell you guys how much I love you, and that you guys are the best things to ever happen to me." as I stopped the camera with my shaky hands, a blood curdling scream came from around the canyon. But this time, it wasn't just one like before. It sounded like a heard of things from beyond. Beyond comprehension. Beyond this world. They sounded like a inhuman mix with a coyote. I heard there paws pawing at the ground as they grew closer to my position. I closed my eyes, praying for a simple death instead of the last ones I had unfortunately had to witness.

I kept praying. Praying that something, anything, would just stop them. I wish I could jsut lay back in my bed at home. I wish I could go back to all those moments I wasted time looking for adventure. But it was too late for me
