One day when you're older
And you've grown up to be
Exactly what you wanted,
Will you remember me?
The girl who could make you laugh,
Despite anger and pain
Would you remember me,
As the girl "who found you insane"?
Childhood friends won't last
Forever, I say,
But maybe, just maybe,
You'll remember me that day
I'll be at your door, saying:
"Don't shoo me away,
I know you have your own life
But couldn't I just stay
Because for a few moments, we'll be
Best friends again.
Running through the rain,
The small age of eleven."
We'd make small talk
Your love would be there
We'd smile, and chat
But later, I'd be elsewhere:
Still thinking of you,
My best friend.
Dear friend, I love you,
And will to the end.
