AFTERMATH

part two

             Daryl leads the way into the town, they come upon a small pharmacy. He picks on the door, and several walkers throw themselves at the door. The group jumps back. Daryl takes his knife out, slowly opens the door, and starts putting  the walkers down. He motions for the others to follow him. "Okay, spread out, do a quick sweep, then grab a cart and grab anything you think we will need, if there's anything left." They go in separate directions. Daryl hears something fall down on the next aisle. He raised his crossbow, and slowly makes his way towards the noise. He lowers the crossbow. "Enid?" She stands up, dropping the boxes she was holding. He picks one up. "No! Don't...." Daryl looks at her. " A pregnancy test?" She nods, trying not to cry. " you and Carl?" She nods. "I loved him. Everyone I love ends up dead." He hugs her. "Come with us. We have a house, food, you'll be safe there. " Rick comes over. "Enid?" He sees the tests. "Is it Carl's baby?" She looks away, "If there is one, yes." Rick hugs her. Daryl clears his throat. "Lets get the supplies, then get back to the house."  They grab what they can and head to the next store.
       Meanwhile, at the house, Carol is in the living room. She hears a noise outside. She grabs her knife and opens the door. Maggie is lying on the ground, moaning. Carol runs over to her. "Maggie!" She helps her up and info the house. She helps her into a bedroom and she lies down.  Maggie looks at her. "Is everyone safe? Rick, Michonne,Judith, Carl?" Carol looks down.  Maggie grabs her hand. "Please. Tell me." Carol sighs. "Rick and Judith showed up here. Um, Carl....He's gone." She slowly sits up. "Gone? He left?" Carol shakes her head. "No, he's dead. He was bit trying to help someone." Maggie starts crying. "Noooo!" How about Enid?" Carol shakes her head. "She hasn't turned up yet. Okay, you need to get some rest. I'll bring you some food, and water. Then you need to sleep. " she goes into the kitchen to make her a plate of food. The front door opens, the others come in. Rick goes over to Carol. "Who's the food for?" Carol smiles. "Maggie showed up at the front door just a little bit ago. She's in the bedroom down that hall. Rick goes on he goes over to her and hugs her. "Carol told me....about Carl. I'm so sorry." Rick looks away, a tear running down his cheek. " don't worry about me. Focus on you and the baby. Oh, we found Enid." She comes in and hugs Maggie. "Is the baby okay?" Maggie nods. "Yeah. As far as I know. I haven't had any more pain." Enid puts her hand over her mouth, and runs to the other room, throwing up into a trash can. Maggie looks towards the door. "Is she okay?" Rick nods. "She thinks she might be pregnant." He smiles. "With Carl's baby."  Carol hugs him. Daryl comes in. "We have company. Don't know if they're good or bad they insist on meeting with our leader.
        Rick walks over to Daryl, who is standing at the front door. " Daryl, come with me, bring your crossbow, just in case." Daryl nods, grabbing his crossbow. Carol comes over, placing her gun in it's holster. "I'm coming with."   Daryl shakes his head. " we don't know anything about these people. Its dangerous." Carol takes a deep breath. "I'm going. End of story." Daryl sighs, opening the door. In the driveway is an RV and several vans. A man comes over to them. "Hello there. My name is Kevin. My group would like to camp out over in that field, next to the barn. We don't need anything from you, just thought it right to ask first. The RV door opens. A woman walks out. Rick gasps. "M...Michonne?" She runs up to Rick. He hugs her tight. Crying years of joy. "Oh my God, you're alive!" She looks at him smiling. Kevin looks at rick, Daryl, and Carol. " is this your husband you were looking for?" She nods, still smiling. Rick looks over towards the barn, "I'll have to ask the owners of the land, but I'm pretty sure it'll be okay. I'll be right back." Rick goes into the house. "Jessie? Where are you?" Jessie comes out of the kitchen."yes? What is it?" Rick looks towards the door. "There's a group of people, they want to camp out by the barn. They don't need anything else from us. Do you think that will be okay? They brought my wife, Michonne back to me. I'd like to repay them for making sure She was safe." Jessie nods. "Okay. They can stay." Rick goes back out. "You can stay. Just be careful, walkers have been coming around." Kevin smiles. "Thank you. You won't even know we're here." He goes back to the vehicles. Michonne kisses Rick. "The saviors destroyed their home. I ran into them as I was trying to find you. Have you found anyone else?" Rick smiles. " yes, Daryl, Carol, Judith, Maggie and Enid." Michonne looks towards the house. "Does Enid and Maggie know about Carl?" Rick sighs, "yes. And, Enid may be pregnant with Carl's baby. We're gonna be grandparents, maybe." Michonne hugs him. They go back into the house. Maggie comes over and hugs her. "I'm so glad you're safe." Michonne smiles. "You too. I was afraid I'd never see any of you ever again." Enid comes out of the bathroom, holding one of the pregnancy tests. Rick goes over to her and looks. " positive. Wow." Enid starts crying. Rick hugs her. " Dont worry. We all will help you with the baby. " She wipes her eyes. "Its not that. I miss Carl. The baby will never know his or her father." Rick looks at Daryl and the others. "We all will tell him or her all about Carl. How he ate that huge can of pudding. " everybody laughs. "We will also, when he or she is old enough, we will tell how he died a hero. You'll be okay. Why don't you go lie down, get some sleep. " she yawns. "Sounds good, I'm exhausted." She goes to her room, lies on the bed, and falls asleep. Out in the kitchen, Daryl grabs his crossbow. "I'm gonna take a look around outside." Rick stops him. "You can't go out there, it's too dangerous. "Don't worry. I'll be careful." He goes outside, heading out around the back of the house.
