Also since I just went to my first prom so I'm sorry, I'm still giddy over dancing with my long time crush.
~~~Winter's POV~~~
I smiled as I looked across the classroom as I saw Y/n Nikos trying to plan out the rest of the creases in the upcoming promenade. "You could ask her out you know?" My brother Whitley said from behind me. "One, how did you get in? Two, I can't just do that. Look at her she's so perfect and I'm...mediocre." My head sank at the thought.
"Ah, sister dearest... Y/n probably looks at you the same way." He looked at her direction and waved. To my surprise she was staring at us with a tiny blush. I smiled at her and waved fondly. Y/n then had a wide grin on her pretty face. "You see, dearest sister. Now hurry before a certain someone takes her before you, Winter." He then pointed to both Neptune and Qrow in their own conversation about Y/n.
"Thank you for your concern, Whitley." I strode over to Y/n with full intentions of telling her everything I felt, that I wanted to take her to the dance tonight. Then the two boys I'd seen earlier talking walked up to her; furious I walked away.
I'd gone to see my younger sister, Weiss, and her girlfriend Ruby. I wanted her opinion on the whole matter. "YOU JUST LET NEPTUNE AND QROW TAKE YOUR GIRL?" Ruby exclaimed clearly upset. "Ruby, calm down, okay?" Weiss put her hands on Ruby's face making her calm down. "Anyway Winter. You just let it happen? I mean...If you love her you'd be willing to fight for her, right?" I smiled at her words. "Ruby's really rubbed off on you, huh?" My sister glared at me.
"So if you can't go with Y/n, who're you going with?" Ruby asked. "I'm not sure," My face fell again. "Hey Winter~!" It was her. My head snapped to face Y/n with a quivering smile. "H-Hello, Miss Nikos..." She pouted and held my face "It's Y/n, remember Winter?" Then her friends called her over. "N/n, let's go~!" One of them called. "Okay! I'll see you three tonight right?"
I nodded my head enthusiastically and she giggled then kissed my cheek. "See you then Winter," I blushed and turned back to the two. "You didn't ask if she was going with anyone, sis..." Weiss pointed out. "Shit." I muttered. "Anyway, Ruby and I have to get ready for tomorrow. I'll see you at home Winter~" I looked around and took a deep breath. "You can do this..."
~~~Y/N'S POV~~~
"Oolala, Y/n didn't know you were so sly~" Nora said grinning like a child. "Why didn't you ask her out?" My sister, Pyrrah asked clearly upset. I frowned "She wouldn't say yes. I mean look at her then look at me. She's too good for me." My sister then smacked my head a little. "You always think they're too good for you, that's why they get away." Ren argued and I let my head drop.
"What about Qrow?" I asked them and they all looked at me like I'd kicked Jaune in the head. "What do you mean 'Qrow'?" Ren asked me. "They're dating, right? I mean it's pretty obvious." They all froze in place, until Nora got up and smacked my head. "You're crazy! Winter's into you, just ask her to dance later, and you'll see." They all nodded and I took a deep breath. "Okay."
~~~TIMESKIP. WINTER'S POV~~~
I took a deep a breath as I walked in with my sister and her girlfriend and their other friends. "So Ice Queen Senior, you gonna dance with Y/n?" Yang asked me. "If the opportunity presents itself..." I hid my blush. As we walked in, my eyes immediately found her in a f/c dress with her h/l hair down in curls. Y/n looked stunning.
"How about you take a picture, it'll last longer." Qrow said behind me. "Good evening Qrow." I tipped his glass to me. "How about I help you out with your princess, Ice Queen?" He said to me. "But...You-" He cut me off "Look, I like Y/n just as much as you do, but she'd never be happy with me. She deserves you." I raised a brow.
"Now once I give you a signal, you swoop in okay?" He walked away smoothly. "That went surprisingly well." Weiss said amazed. I looked over to Y/n who was staring at me...like she was angry? "Fuck." I muttered to myself. I tried walking over to her but Jaune and Pyrrah hand in hand walked over to her.
I continued to walk over to her and I saw Qrow at the corner of my eye by the DJ booth smiling like a child. I looked at Y/n again and she stared at me with a frown on her face but she still looked so beautiful. Her brows furrowed as I continued to press on forward. Once I heard 'Imagination' by Shawn Mendes play I knew what Qrow was doing. I glanced at him again over my shoulder, he had a shit eating smirk on his face and nodded his head. Once I was in front of Y/n, I froze.
She was still frowning, I put out my hand and thankfully she took it. "Wouldn't you want your first dance to be your boyfriend over there?" Her voice was cold. I looked down at her with a confused look. "I don't have a boyfriend, Y/n... What are you talking about?" I asked as I spun her and pulled her even closer. "I mean you and Qrow. It's obvious, Winter." When she tried to pull away I tried to pull her even closer to my body.
"Y/n not once have I ever liked Qrow. I've always been in love with one person." I paused as I gazed into her e/c eyes and just got lost. "I've been in love with her deep e/c eyes, her h/l h/c hair and how it flows in the wind. I love when she smiles at me like I'm the only person in the world who matters. I love when she talks back to me and makes me feel like I've met my match. I love how her voice sounds when she tries to encourage me to prove myself to my family. I love every single thing about her." Her eyes were glassy. "If you feel such a thing for someone, why are you here with me?"
I smiled and put my forehead against hers and I could feel my heart beating faster and faster. My eyes flickered from her eyes to her lips. "I'm with her now." She closed the gap between us making me breathless. I felt her smile into the kiss as I ran my hand through her perfect hair and she put her hands in my cheeks.
When I pulled away I muttered in her ear "Be mine?" Then she smiled up at me "The Ice Queen has a heart?" I shook my head. "I didn't for a while, but because of you...I do now." Y/n shook her head and kissed me again. "You're cheesy."
"So what's your answer, Nikos? I can't wait forever" I teased. "Yes, Schnee; I'm yours." Then I heard Weiss and Pyrrah yell "That's my sister~!" And we both laughed and continued the dance. "How long, Winter?" I smiled at her. "Since around, a month into meeting you." She looked at me with a shocked face. "Seriously that long? That was like 3 years ago Winter!" I smiled and pecked her lips again. "You were worth the wait, Nikos."
A/N: Hai. What? Too sappy? What the hell, okay, I'm sappy. It's because my baby looked so perfect during prom and when I danced with her I wanted to kiss her so baaaaaaddd~ Anyway, I'll try to update again this month but I can't promise much. Holy Week and all that.
