"y/n, can you go pick up some gauze? we're out." i heard my mom yell from upstairs. "Yeah, sure!" i replied back, grabbing some money and hopping on my bike.
Arriving at Mr. Keene's Pharmacy, i walked straight to the first aid section. I grabbed a 250 pack of gauze and paid for it.
"can't afford pads?" Gretta taunted. "no- my brother got his lip busted and we were out." i replied, looking at my feet.
I exited the store and saw my Middle School crush, Eddie Kaspbrak, on the curb. He sat with his head hung low and a cast on his right arm.
"Hey, Eddie." i said, sitting down on the curb next to him. He looked up to me and i saw that on his cast was written 'LOSER'. I grabbed his cast and took a red sharpie from my pocket. I wrote a 'V' over the 'S' making it say 'LOVER'.
I walked away smiling. "Stay cool, Edds." He just sat there, dumbfounded.
~LATER~
"Hey y/n/n (your nickname)" my brother said as i walked through my front door. "Hey Rich, I saw Eddie at the pharmacy." i handed him the bag and trotted upstairs.
