Double Date: Part 4

  After getting out of the car, I looked at the front of Chia's. It was a beautiful place with a classy vibe. Outside there were little bistro tables like you would see in Parisian cafes. Fairy lights lit up the outdoor dining area. The facade of the building was white limestone with elegant columns and arches. "Wow, this place is beautiful." I say as we make our way to the front doors. "Not as beautiful as you." Zed tells me winking. I'm about to reply but Bucky interrupts me. "Zed you're so cheesy."
Bucky says. "I don't think I'm cheesy." Zed replies. "Well you are." Eliza butts in. "Addison doesn't think so. Do you Addy?" Zed asks me. "I think you're cute." I reply. "See." Zed says sticking his tongue out at Eliza and Bucky.
"You know that's not mature right?" Eliza asks. "You're not mature." Zed shoots back. "Okay, anyways lets go in now." I say, interrupting the soon to be argument. "Yeah let's go in." Bucky says opening the doors to the restaurant. I'm surprised to see he doesn't appear nervous at all. Why did Bucky need us to come?

   Once we enter the building, Bucky goes up to a man at a podium with a folder resting on it, presumably holding the names of people with reservations. Just like in the movies. This is so fancy.
"Hello sir, do you have reservations tonight?" The man asks. "Yes sir." Bucky replies. "Under what name?" The man asks. "Bucky, party of four." Bucky replies. "Bucky, Bucky, Bucky...Ah Yes here we are. If you'll just follow Bethany, she'll show you to your table. Enjoy your evening." The man said, gesturing to a pretty, young waitress with long, straight blonde hair and green eyes. I notice her stare at Zed for a moment. I slide closer to him and latch on to his arm, giving the waitress a clear signal, he's mine.
She glares back for a moment and the tension is thick, apparently she realizes I'm not backing down so she looks away. Giving a cheap smile, Bethany motions for us to follow her. "Alright, this is where you folks will be sitting. I'll be your server. What can I get you all to drink?" She asks taking out a notepad. I don't miss the fact that during the entire time she was speaking she was looking at Zed, who seemed to be oblivious to the flirting. I however was not. "Coke please." Zed says. "Sure thing hun." Bethany says her voice sickeningly sugary. I move my chair closer to Zed's in a not so subtle way. Bethany looks away long enough to glance at me before dismissing my existence. "I'll take a coke same as my boyfriend." I say. The line has now been clearly established, if she knows what's good for her, she won't cross it. Bucky and Eliza order Sprite. "Alright, I'll be right back with your drinks, if there's anything you need anything at all, you just let me know." Bethany all but purrs to Zed.
That does it, leaning over, I grab Zed's chin and pull his mouth on mine in a passionate kiss. Never mind the fact that we're in a fancy public restaurant. I have to make sure this girl gets the message. Reluctantly, I pull away, smirking when I see Bethany's eyes go wide as saucers. "If we need anything Bethany, I will be sure to ask your manager." I say, the threat evident in my words. With a quick yes ma'am, Bethany scurries away. "Okay, what just happened?" Zed and Bucky asked at the same time. I look at Eliza and roll my eyes. Sometimes boys can be so oblivious to what happens around them. "Oh nothing, Addison was just marking her territory." Eliza replies. "Oh I get it." Bucky said. "What do you get?" Zed asks. "Seriously? Did you not notice the way that chick was flirting with you?" Bucky asks. "Uh no, why was she?" Zed asks. "Yes! She was definitely flirting with you Zed. The second she noticed you, her eyes were all over your body. That irritated me but I let it slide, you are very attractive after all. Then when she was taking down our drinks she called you hun, that made me mad, and she was still staring at you. I thought she might not know you were my boyfriend, so I stated in no uncertain terms that you are my boyfriend, thinking maybe she would finally understand. But then she just had to purr at you and I lost my temper. I kissed you very clearly showing that you are my boyfriend, and may have implied that if she flirted with you again, I would report it to her manager." I explain, blood still simmering slightly. "Wow, you were jealous." Zed says realization dawning on his face. "Yes Zed I was jealous. Believe it or not jealousy isn't just a guy thing. It happens to girls too." I say.
"Really? This is interesting, Eliza have you ever been jealous?" Bucky asks Eliza. "I'm not going to tell you. What Addison just revealed is true but you'll just have to learn how to tell if I'm feeling jealous or not by how I act." Eliza says. "Will you act like Addison?" Bucky asks. "I'll act similarly to Addison." Eliza replies. "Okay but how will you act?" Bucky presses. Eliza doesn't say anything. "Look Bucky, I've known Eliza my whole life, so believe me when I tell you, she's not going to say anything else on the subject. Might as well move on." Zed says. "Hi, I'm Johnathan, here are your drinks." An older male waiter says, setting our drinks down on the table. "Thank you." I say, surprised that Bethany isn't waiting on us. "What happened to Bethany?" Bucky asks taking the word straight out of my mouth. "She decided to work another section of the restaurant, I can go get her if you would prefer her as your server. "No!" We all shout in unison, earning some dirty looks from other patrons. "I mean, no thank you." I hastily correct.
"Let me guess she flirted with one of your boyfriends." Jonathan says. "Wow, how'd you guess?" I ask surprised. "It's kind of what Bethany is known for. We've had several complaint about her but the owner won't let us fire her since she's his niece." Jonathan says. "Well, I have a feeling she won't be flirting with anyone for a while. Addison here just scared the daylights out of her." Bucky says pointing to me. "You scared her did you? Well that's good for you, and the rest of the young couples who walk through that door." Jonathan says.
I'm not sure how to respond so I just grin. "Alright now what will you be having today?" Jonathan asks. I order a salad and chicken gnocchi soup. Eliza orders lobster bisque and Bucky and Zed both order steak and potatoes. So predictable. The rest of the meal is spent between discussing the events of the actions of Bethany and my reactions and wit, and talking about normal things like cheer and football and Eliza's computer coding club and just about anything else under the sun.
When it's time to leave, Bucky pays what I'm sure must be a very expensive bill, we all pile back in the van laughing and telling jokes. Soon we pull up to my house and Zed walks me to my door. I look back at the car and see Bucky kiss Eliza softly. I point it out to Zed who smiles. "What did Bucky even need us for?" I ask. "I don't know, but I'm glad he invited us. Tonight was fun. We needed a proper date night." Zed tells me. "Right. I've missed this." I say.
"Addison, I promise from here on out, we will have a proper date at least once a week no matter what." Zed tells me sincerely. "Okay." I say. "Okay." Zed echoes. Then he kissed me it's soft and sweet, I move to deepen the kiss, but Bucky honks the horn on his van and Zed pulls away. "I think that's Bucky's not so subtle way of telling me it's time to go." Zed tells me. "Yeah? Then you should probably go." I tell him. "Goodnight Addy. I love you." Zed says.
"Goodnight, I love you too Zed." I reply. After giving me one last kiss, Zed leaves. After watching them drive off I start thinking of Zed's promise for more date nights, and smile. I really do love that boyfriend of mine.
