"Olympia?!"
Otis's eyes widened in shock.
I quickly pulled away from the kiss.
"Otis... I can explain." I said.
"I-I'm a lesbian."
Otis stood quiet.
"I-I wasn't sure until Oona kissed me. I'm sorry Otis but I think we should break up. My mom made me believe that liking people of the same gender is something gross and sinful. But I realized that we can't control our sexuality."
Otis' POV
I can't believe it. The girl of my dreams.. The girl I finally had the courage to ask out.. Turned out to not like me the same way because she's a lesbian.
I love her with all my heart but I know it won't feel good being with someone who doesn't love you back. I decided to try to be understanding.
"It's alright. We're still friends though right?" I asked, trying not to sound sad.
"Of course." Olympia responded.
I was glad that we were still friends.
Hopefully I'll get over my feelings for Olympia. Maybe I'll be able to fall in love again.
