I suppose I've learned a bit.

Greetings everyone. A fine evening, is it not? Ah yes. The perfect time to simply curl up at the computer (how does one even do so) and write fan fiction. Yes, I meant to do that.

As you may have known, some time ago I was a huge fan of a certain Pokemon shipping that just seemed so tragic and dramatic that it was just impossible for me not to like. I am not saying I don't like it now; I'm still a sucker for anything to do with it but I've realized more than one thing. Well, perhaps just one thing but it just seems huge.

"What might that be, my dear Tem?" All right. Highly unlikely you'll actually say that, but what I've realized is that the taller and frankly more masculine of the pair has striking similarities to Adolf Hitler. Yes indeed, and I have evidence- I promise I'm not completely insane (keep in mind I said completely). First off, he proclaims he will "Purify the world" by eliminating those who did not apply to an objective topic, which is similar to what Hitler did- "Purifying Germany; purifying his nation" by eliminating all Jews that were found and ultimately killed them by means of mass murder. I infer that if the character were to carry out his plans, it would have resulted in about the same way.

Now I could go on and on about this, but I shall get straight to the point: I was very wrong.

Younger me would say "Oh, he's okay, he just wants to stop everyone from fighting," But that's not the case. Sure, he also wanted to do that, but really what he wanted was mass murder and genocide. With my crappy writing skills and "colourful" imagination, I painted him as the good guy. I made the story a tragedy, however wrong it would have been to do so.

Did I really do the right thing? No, I did not; a character with several and frankly striking similarities to one of the most hated people that ever existed on the face of the earth is not worth a tragedy. It is worth a cold, heartless ending.

Yes, I am going to re-write everything I've done just for the sake of improvement and to paint the character in the way he deserves to be: someone worth hating. Good day, and thank you for listening to my incessant rambling.
