"Shit," Dean mutters under his breath, clenching his hair.
"Hmm?" Sam doesn't even look up from his laptop- he doesn't need to; Dean is hungover. They are in the middle of a hunt. And Dean is hungover. It shouldn't be mistaken: Samuel Winchester loves his brother and would most definitely do anything for him, but he is hungover in the middle of a hunt, which adds to the list of Sam's responsibilities.
"Where's Cas with his magical angel headache-healing, hangover-defying powers when you need him?" Dean stands, tousling his hair in the process. At this point Sam looks up at his elder brother to assess the damage and struggles to contain a chuckle. "You try downing a bottle of Vodka and waking up looking this beautiful," Dean says as he stares daggers at Sammy. He drags himself to the motel bathroom for a shower, tapping Rosemary's toes on his way. Her eyes follow Dean to the bathroom, waiting for the door to close.
"Hand it over."
"Screw you."
"Deals a deal Sammy."
"I hate you," he slowly hands over his 20 dollars to Rose. She was right. Dean was too out of it to notice his hot pink nails and poorly drawn on mustache when he passed the mirror.
"Sure you do, Sammy. Sure you do." Rosemary grins, slipping the the money into her combat boots. It's help fund her destructive habits, but what her brothers don't  know cant possibly hurt them. She pulls her long brown hair back into a braid giving the mirror a quick glance. Sixteen is too young to have dark circles of that intensity, but she doesn't know that. Rose's mirror Sammy's and Dean's just like her eyes, and height, and sarcasm.
Sammy stares at Rosemary for just a moment too long, and notices her collar bone sticking out through her sweater. Has she always been this thin? Sam chooses to ignore this observation, and goes back to his research.
Rosemary, on the other hand, begins maintenance on her weapons: sharpening her knives, polishing her guns, refilling her syringes with dead-man's blood, etc. Dean, still wet from his shower, walks out of the bathroom in his boxers and pounces on top of Rose.
"DAMMIT DEAN!!!!!!"
"Sammy did you hear something?"
" GET OFF OF ME YOU WET DOG BEFORE I END YOU!" Rose kicks one leg around Dean's torso allowing her to flip him and herself over. She goes to pull him into a headlock, but before she can, Dean picks her up and holds her upside down over the bed.
" I never realized you were an artist Rosey."
"Down. Down. Down. Down. Down. Down. Down. Down."
"You've set yourself up for this one kid." He swings her around like he used to when she was little before dropping her onto Sam's bed.
" I hate you" Rose mumbles before fixing her hair again. She stands up and makes her way to the door. "By the way, the pink really makes your eyes pop." Sam snickers at his sister's remark before closing his laptop and grabbing his jacket, following her out the door. They make their way to the impala, where Sam starts the car and Rose gets in quickly as possible. She most certainly was not built for the Colorado weather, especially not in the middle of November.
"Seriously?" Sam chuckled as his sister climbed into the passenger seat with him smothering him for warmth.
"You bet your ass Samuel. If it's cold enough for snow, then Rose says 'no, no'." Sammy laughs at the rhyme, while Rose merely grins at Dean walking (more like Olympic speed walking) to the car. He's the one person alive who hate the cold more than she does.
Dean starts the engine, warming his hands with his breath and starts their long journey- the 5 minute drive to Waffle House.
••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
Damn. She's only sixteen. Dean thinks to himself while watching Rosemary chug her sixth cup of black coffee in the past thirty minutes. He receives the signature 'I know it's weird but leave it alone" Sammy look before deciding to delve into his stack of chocolate chip waffles.
Rose stands up and lets out a sigh before walking up to the counter to approach one of the male employees who moments before had winked at her. Sammy stared at Dean, who's right hand had mysteriously wound up holding a gun under the table.
"What's a pretty girl like you doing out here in the middle of nowhere?" He smiles and winks at Rose once again.
"Just passing through," she fake blushes looking down, mimicking innocence.
"The name's James. What's yours baby?" James says, flashing his teeth; it's taking everything in Rosemary to not roll her eyes and gag.
"It's Katherine." She smiles.
"Well Katherine, how can I help you?" James reaches across the counter and grabs her hand.
At this point, Dean looks like he's about to explode, and Sammy can't get enough of it. "Just a little longer, Dean. Maybe his head will explode if you stare some more." After ten long minutes, Rose makes her way back to the table, shuddering in disgust.
"The hell was that about?" Dean loosens the grip on his gun.
"All of the victims were in the same club. Appreciation of literature. Apparently only one person left in that club is still alive. Peter Gilmer, he's another college student."
"Did your friend over there tell us where we could find him?"
"Yea, at a bar about two blocks down from here."
" Good work kid. Next time try not to make Dean go into 'super protective older brother mode'. I don't want to have to break him out of jail for murdering some kid." Sam and Rose laughed as Dean rolled his eyes.

Hey guys. So it's been a while since I've written anything and you can probably tell but oh well I'm trying. Sorry about how lame this chapter was. I'm just trying to give a little bit of a soft introduction to a rough story. Thanks for reading. :)
