A strangled cry leaves Myles' lips before he jumps up, not caring that he's bouncing straight into harm's way as Heidi lets out a tormented scream.

Quickly glancing towards Zac, I see his eyes locked with Jordan, the two of them clearly having a secret, unspoken conversation. It takes mere seconds before they look away from each other, Zac gazing directly at me and slowly shaking his head. What?

It's been seconds since Jen was killed, yet it feels like minutes.

Myles dodges another spear shoved his way as he heads for the Slayer who brutally murdered his kind, caring sister.

Before I can comprehend what's happening, Zac and Jordan are on their feet, whirling around and taking out the men behind them with ease, grabbing hold of the Slayers' weapons and turning them on the enemy.

Suddenly, Zac's message becomes clear, the shake of the head urging me to stay where I am, not to react like he has. Does he think that'll keep me safe? Fucking idiot.

Anna suddenly lets out a loud roar, catapulting her fist into the chin of the man behind her. She has all the rage of a tiger, pulling him in front of her as a shield when another throws their spear towards her. Her eyes are wild, an animal that's been pushed to the brink of no return, and she's out for blood...

Grimacing, I lean down, angling my ankles underneath me so that I'm on my haunches, resting my hands on the ground and taking a deep breath.

Without warning, I spring up, turning and landing a punch into the face of the woman behind me. She stumbles back as I yank the gun from her hands, shoving the butt of it into her neck. A wheezy breath leaves her lips before she falls to the ground.

Turning the gun around, I pull a round of ammo from the pocket of my jeans and load it, instantly shooting the two Slayers behind her when they launch towards me.

Looking back, I see that Heidi has crowded around Sam, using her fists against one of the men before quickly lifting her foot and shooting her boot into his stomach. He stumbles back and I can see that he's about to recover, no doubt to tackle her with newfound vigour.

"Heidi!" I yell. She turns towards me, eyes wide as I haul my arm back, throwing the gun through the air with as much force as possible. She reaches up, catching it just in time to stop the Slayer from killing her.

I'm suddenly being choked from behind and my hands rise to my throat, clutching at the claws wrapped around it. I wheeze for air, the life limiting feeling one of the worst I've ever experienced; my entire oxygen supply being stopped, forcing me to feel my mouth dry up as my lungs starve themselves, panic overtaking every inch of my body.

Reaching down, I fumble at my belt, relieved when I realise there's one last knife. I quickly yank it out, shoving it into the person behind me without a second thought, the pure killer in me at large, showing no mercy.
