Breathing heavily, Mariposa watched Jasonn walk by the vent she was hiding in growling. "Find her! She can NOT get out of this building!" He commanded to the monsters that were in the Retreat. Mariposa heard the others make comments of affirmation and whimpered ever so slightly as Aubrey Adder walked by where she was hiding. In a passing inquisition she wondered why Jasonn had not given him the body of a snake.
Hearing her whimper, the boy whipped his head in her direction. Spotting her, he cried out to the others in alarm. She yelped and quickly crawled through the vent, which led to the outside. She heard Jasonn's yells behind her as she shoved the vent open and jumped down into the backyard. She began sprinting.
Mariposa heard the doors to the house slam open and rapid footsteps begin chasing her from multiple places. She ran for her life, but just as her legs were about to give out the ground disappeared below her as she fell into a hidden cavern and blacked out from fear and exhaustion.
