A few weeks ago, me and my best friend were eating lunch together, sitting in the cafeteria. I had just taken a bite out of a buffalo chicken nugget when T looked up at me.
She stopped chewing and her eyes went wide. Her face went pale. A look of shock.
"Uh, what's wrong?" I asked.
She didn't answer. She didn't even blink. She just stared past me, at someone who was standing behind me. For a full minute.
And then, the color returned to her face. Her eyes shifted towards me.
That was the first experience I ever had.
"What was that, Richie?"
