Dreamt About You...

Chapter 7

I got into work and began to bake. Jen was already there, placing cakes on the cake stand. She looked very happy and I knew why... it was her birthday. I had gotten her some gifts already, but I was planning on inviting her over to mine and giving them to her then.
"Happy Birthday Jen!!" I said, giving her a hug.
"Thank you!!" She said with a giant smile.
"I was wondering if you'd like to come round my place tonight and I'll give you your presents there?!" I asked her.
"I can't.. and neither can you!" She said. I gave her a confused look as I continued to bake. "Look, Murr has organised a birthday party for me and your invited!!" She told me.
"Tonight?!" I asked.
"Well it's a Friday! We are off tomorrow sooo?!" Jen asked me.
"Sure" I replied. It did seem like a nice thing to do after a hard weeks work. "Is.." I began. I was going to ask if Sal was there but that would look very strange.
"Yeah?" Jen asked.
"I forgot" I said with a chuckle.

The more the day progressed we became more and more busier. I was trying my best to bake all the cakes but we ran out of some essential ingredients.
"We will have to close for lunch early!" I said to Jen, who was sat by the till.
"Umm sure" she replied.
"You'll have to close the bakery, but stay here to watch it!" I said to her. She rolled her eyes then agreed. I ran out the bakery on a search for new ingredients.

Meanwhile, when I was gone, Murr and Sal came round the bakery. Murr was there to see Jen and Sal just tagged along.
"Is this where Carly works?" Sal asked Murr.
"Yep" Murr replied as they walked in.
"Sorry we are closed" Jen said before looking up to see Murr, and Sal stood behind.
"Hello birthday girl!!" Murr said to Jen as she hugged him. "Is it lunch time?" Murr asked.
"Yeah" Jen replied.
"Then let me take you out for lunch!" Murr said, holding out his hand.
"Is Carly around?" Sal suddenly asked.
"Nope and that's why I have to stay here!" She explained.
"I.. I can watch this place until Carly comes back" Sal offered.
"Really?!" Jen asked. Sal softly nodded. "Thanks! We are closed so there won't be any customers" she informed him.
"Are you coming to my birthday party?" Jen asked Sal.
"Sure.. is Carly going?" Sal replied.
"Yep!" Jen replied.
"Good" he said as he smiled to himself.

Sal sat himself on the chair behind the counter and waited for me to return.
