Kayleigh's POV
I knock on the door infront of me, the door opens a few minutes later, "Hi! Who are you?" The girl asks, she looked my age, "Hi uh, is Alice there?" I ask, my accent think as bones, "Hm?" I hear Alice say, coming from behind the girl, "Kayleigh!" She yells, happiness in her voice, "Hi" I say, smiling, "Betty, this is your cousin, Kayleigh, my niece. She's going to be staying with us for a while for family reasons." Alice explains to the blonde girl, Alice takes my bags, "Thank you so much for this Alice." I say, stepping inside the house, Betty just glaring at me, "it's fine, Kayleigh, I apologise for your parents actions, it was horrible of them to do what they did." She says pulling me into a hug, I laugh awkwardly "Well, at least it got me out of there? Ya know?" I say, hugging her back, "you start at Riverdale High tomorrow, Betty I want you to make sure she feels welcome. Make sure to introduce her to your friends, I don't need to worry about Archie around her." Alice says, winking at me, I nod, Betty sighs "Of course mom. Can I go to pops? Hanging out with Kevin and the others." Betty says, "of course! Take Kayleigh with you, will you?" She says, Betty groans "Sure. Come on." Betty says talking my hand and pulling me out of the house, "So, where are you from?" Betty asks, "Ireland." I say, "why'd you leave?" She asks me, I ignore the question, "Kayleigh?" She says my name, "I... it's not.. it's not important, okay?" I say, tell my voice cracking, she nods, "so, why riverdale?" Betty asks, as we get closer to the shop called pops, "Alice is the only family member I trust I guess, so I decided to ask her if I could go stay with her, and my mom used to live here." I say, we arrive at the shop, "Betty!" A guy yells, calling her over, Betty takes my hand and pulls me over with them, "Kev, V, Archie & Juggie, Meet Kayleigh, my cousin." Betty says, awkwardly, "wait you have a cousin called Kayleigh and you didn't tell us?" A guy with brown hair says, "I didn't know I had one until about 20 mins ago." She says, looking at me, they move over so we can sit down, I sit down beside Betty not knowing what else to do, "so, Kayleigh where you from?" A raven haired girl asks me, "Ireland." I say, my accent thick as bones, "Woah! Your accent!" They all say, minus betty, I shift awkwardly in my seat, "So what are you doing here, Kayleigh?" A guy on his laptop asks, "Uh... I'm staying with Alice for... a while." I say, "Why?" The girl asks, "Uh... family reasons..." I say, "What? Did your parents like kick you out?" The guy in the corner says, obviously joking, I look down at the table, "Holy shit! did they?" Betty asks, "no.. just a touchy subject from an old friend."I lie, not wanting to say much, "Okay..." the girl says "Well I'm Veronica lodge!" She introduces herself, "Kayleigh Cooper." I say, "I'm Kevin Keller!" The guy introduces himself, "I'm Archibald Andrews but.. please call me Archie." "I'm Jughead Jones." The guy in the corner introduces himself, "Jones?" I ask, raising an eyebrow, he nods "Yeh.. why?" He asks, "N-nothing... My mom used to talk about this guy she met in high school, his last name was Jones." I shrug, "Was his first name FP?" Archie asks, "Yeh, she told me he was a snake, or serpent to be more exact... never really understood what she meant by that but she always told me to stay clear of anyone with the last name Jones." I sigh, but who am I to listen to her now? "There goes Jug's chance of having a new friend." Veronica laughs, "Or possible girlfriend~" Archie says, "I just met her." Jughead says, "Like he said.." I say awkwardly, "so, any boyfriend in Ireland?" Kevin asks, "Listen, Irish lads aren't all that, sure we have a few good ones, but de ones who you acc meet, ya end up realising how full of themselves they are, all they want is a ride from everyone." I say, my accent the definition of thick. "Your accent is so cute!" Kevin squeals, "Kevin your gay is showing." Betty teases, "you're gay?" I ask, "yeh he is, is there a problem?" Archie says, "Nope.. just wouldn't have guessed. I've nothin against gays. My parents on the other hand.." I mumble the last part so no one can hear me, "what was that?" Betty asks, "Nothing!" I say quickly, "Uh you know what? I'm going to head back to your house, Betty, I'll call Alice to pick me up.. have fun with your friends" I say standing up, Betty frowns, "You sure?" She asks, I nod, pulling out my phone and calling Alice

Back at Betty's house
"You can stay in Polly's room." Hal says, "Are you sure?" I ask, he nods, I walk into the room, I close the door and sigh, I decide to post a post on Twitter

I walk into the lounge and sit down, "Who's she?" A girl with pink in her hair asks, "That's Betty's cousin." Jughead says, "where's she from?" A guy asks, "Ireland." Kevin says, "Does she not speak?" the girl with pink in her hair says, "Not really, she barely talked to me yesterday, she only really talks to my mom." Betty sighs, "Alice?" Another guy says, laughing, "Yes Alice." I say, my accent thick, "Oh my god her accent." The girl with pink says, "It's cute." Jug says, "I'm Toni topaz." The pink haired girl introduces herself, "Kayleigh Cooper." I say, she smiles at my accent, "Fangs." "I'm Sweet Pea but, you can call me yours" he winks at me, "No thanks." I say, Toni snickers "why not?" He asks, "I'm..." I stop myself before saying anything and sigh, "not interested in dating at the moment." I lie, "Why not?" Betty asks, "If I tell you with you shut the hell up about why I'm here?" I snap, "Yes." She says, "My parents found out something. They didn't support it and kicked me out." I say, "what'd they find out?" Toni asks, a frown on her face, "yeh what did they?" Betty asks, "something I haven't told anyone, leaving my parents to find out through my diary." I say, "but what is it?" Jug asks, "I don't plan on exposing myself the first day here, it's not important. It got me out of the hell hole I called home, but if you really want to know..."I begin, but I'm cut off by a girl, "Kayleigh Cooper, I've heard whispering, I'm Cheryl blossom." A strawberry blonde girl says walking into the room, "Uh hi." I say awkwardly, "I came to tell you that you should sign up for cheerleading!" She says, smiling, "Uh... well... I would but I.. don't know anything about it?... well I do but.. it's not something we did in Ireland and I don't like doing.. new things." I say, she frowns "well the options always open~" she winks at me and walks away, "so why were you?" Toni asks, I sigh

"Kayleigh?" Betty says, bringing me back to reality, "sorry, uh, they kicked me out when I failed a lot of things, said I was a disgrace." I shrug, "what did you fail?" Kevin asks, "Let's just say.. Ireland.. isn't that fun, when it comes to liking writing & photography, according to everyone in my school it makes you 'gay'." I say, sighing, "are you?" Betty asks, I shake my head, "So what was your social life back in Ireland?" "Social life? None existent." "Oh my god your a female jughead." Kevin laughs
