Croft Manor
Surrey, England
After escaping Trinity, we both decided to pack up and head back to the Manor. The Manor still needed repairs but I did my best with the surrounding area. Lara was very proud of me but she was still frustrated about what happened in Syria with the empty Prophet's tomb and all that. We were in Lara's father study room, piecing together what else we could find on the tomb. So far, I know that my ancestor is supposedly the Prophet's Champion himself but there was no record of his history or basically anything on him other than this man is supposedly a powerful Knight who protects the Prophet.
Suddenly the sounds of a door opening and the sound of heavy footsteps snap me out of my thoughts and we both looked at each other with our eyes wide open. I immediately pull out my Glock and cock the gun, ready for whoever it was. Suddenly the door to Mr. Croft's study room swings open and a man walks in and turns on the light revealing himself to be Jonah.
Lara: "Jonah!"
Jonah: "Lara!"
(F/N): "Jesus, Jonah. You know you could've just knocked, right?"
Jonah laughs and brings us both into a hug.
Jonah: "It's good to see you too, (F/N)."
Lara: "There's so much we need to tell you, I don't -"
Jonah: "Did you find the prophet's tomb?"
Lara: "Yes."
(F/N): "But we were followed."
Jonah was confused.
Jonah: "What? By who?"
(F/N): "By the people who killed our parents."
Lara walks over to her pile of notes and begins rummaging through it.
Lara: "They call themselves Trinity. They tried to kill us."
Jonah's eyes widened in shock.
Jonah: "What the hell is going on here? You guys are starting to scare me."
Lara: "The tomb was empty, but I think they were looking for the Divine Source."
Jonah: "The artifact your father was after?"
Lara: "We found this symbol in the tomb. I know I'd seen it before. It was driving me insane!"
She hands Jonah the picture I sketched.
Lara: "That's when it hit me. I saw it here, in one of Dad's books."
She walks over to another shelf and talks out a book.
Lara: "Listen to this. The lost city of Kitezh. Said to have disappeared in Siberia sometime in the 12th century. Legend says that on the eve of the invasion by the Mongol horde, it sunk beneath a lake."
Jonah: "What does this have to do with the Prophet's artifact?"
(F/N): "Look at the symbol in your hand and the symbol in the book. It's the same symbol."
Jonah begins laughing to himself while walking away.
Jonah: "Lara.."
Lara: "If the Divine Source is hidden in the ruins of Kitezh, waiting to be found, then I have to go."
(F/N): "We have to go."
Jonah: "To Siberia? Are you guys kidding me?"
Lara: "Just think, if this thing could really unlock the secret of immortality, it... it would change everything. Sickness, suffering, death... gone!"
