i rolled my eyes. my sister, kimaya , was screaming the lyrics to "japan" by famous dex.
"BABYGIRL WHAT YOU DOIN' WHERE YA MAN—
"KIM, SHUT THE FUCK UP!" my momma screamed, kim rolled her eyes. i busted out into laughter.
my mom was dropping us off to the mall. we were gonna go buy some clothes, and leave.
my name's kenzie marie carter. i'm seventeen years old, and ill be eighteen in two weeks. i live with my momma, and my little sister. my dad lives out in atlanta, and we live in california.
my parents have been separated since i was six years old. they would always argue, and my dad would always sneak different women into the house. my mom found out about it, took kim and i, and left him.
i do miss my dad, but i'll never forgive him for what he did to my mother. on top of that, he hasn't even called to talk to me or kim.
kim is my younger sister, she just turned fourteen and she's taller than me. 😭 she's 5'2, while i'm only 4'11.
we pulled up to the mall.
"y'all better not go hang out with any boys." my mom said.
"we won't, don't worry." i said with a giggle. she looked at me seriously.
"i wasn't tryna be funny, child." she said. "now go, and bring home some food."
"love you, mom!" kim said with a smile, showing off her braces.
"yeah, yeah." she said. "love y'all too."
kim and i got out of the car, and made our way to the mall entrance. we walked inside, and looked at eachother.
"pink." we both said, and ran up the escalator to the store.

after we got done spoiling ourselves, we made our way to the food court. i got some chinese food, while kim got popeyes.
i picked up something for my momma, cause she loves her chinese food. 😭
kim and i met up and a table, and began to eat.
i noticed that she was blushing at her phone, while typing. my eyes widened, ooh my sister got a boyfriend.
