The Light Switch.

Your feelings for me remind a lot of a Light Switch.

Flick it on and off as you please;

Turn it on when there's darkness and you need a little light.

Turn it off once you don't need its light anymore.

You treated me like I was your sweet little Light Switch,

As if you could use me when you had nothing else and no one else.

You would use me all you wanted,

Drain the lightness from my heart,

Steal the warmth from my  soul,

Just to build a fire for yourself.

Just for you to have warmth and colour even when you didn't need it.

And it took you awhile before you finally realized that I only had so much to give

Before everything would fall apart.

Just like a Light Switch, I have my warranty.

I'll last for a guaranteed time,

But there's consequences if you take too much,

And don't repay it back.

Just like a Light Switch.

if you don't give back, I'll stop working.

Just like a Light Switch,

I'll give my all for light to shine upon your pretty little head.

And just like a Light Switch even when I stop working due to yourself selfishness,

Just like a Light Switch,

I'll tell you that I'm sorry.

Say its "My bad!" When clearly its not.

Just like a Light Switch,

If you drop me and I die a little,

Just like a Light Switch you'll go and buy another

And break her just the same.

Until our "I'm sorry"'s and "My bad!"'s stop.

Because just like a Light Switch, I have my warranted time frame for how long I can last without receiving what I gave, back.

Just like a Light Switch,

I was born to apologize for things that aren't 'my bad'
