That Gay Shit

Playground

           Mia and I walk our dogs by this playground, and the last time we went, the cutest shit ever happened.

So we're walking, and Violet, our mute Siberian husky, goes to bark at a biker. Except she's mute, so it's just her opening her mouth and looking very weird and vaguely disturbing. A little boy walks over and laughs, and he asks to pet her. "Sure, she loves attention." Mia says, and gives him a smile. "You look really pretty. I like your hair." His friend, a girl with pigtails and a poofy skirt, says to me. "Thank you." I smile. "I bet you have a boyfriend cuz you're super pretty." She goes. "Not a boyfriend, but this is my girlfriend." I explain, and Mia holds my hand. "You can do that?! I want a girlfriend too! There's a girl and she's even prettier than the princesses in the movies!" She says. "You can like whoever you want." Mia replies. "When I'm older I'm gonna have a cute dog too, and I'm going to have pretty hair, and pretty girlfriend. Thanks for letting us pet your doggy!" She giggles, and Violet licks her. We resume our walk, but I just love that kids never have problems with gay couples. That girl made my day.
