Three years ago
Dipper opens the letter Wendy gave him and it reads "see you next summer" signed by all of his and Mabel's friends from the town, Dipper spirits lift as the bus leaves Gravity Falls.
Three years later
Dipper's POV
Just a few more minutes until summer begins. Unlike the other students in his school he actually enjoyed school but this year was different, this was the year he and his sister could finally visit Gravity Falls. *bell rings*
School was then dismissed. He met up with his sister.
Mabel: dipper aren't you excited to see are friends again
Isn't it obvious
Mabel: no
I'm just nervous
Mabel: about what
The last time we saw them was 3 years ago
Mabel: so
People change a lot in 3 years
Mabel: is this about wendy
How'd you know
Mabel: isn't it obvious
