After two days, Teo couldn't tell whether he was awake or asleep, dreaming or gasping. Is it night or day? He wondered.
Everything was shadows inside their house's second floor. He felt like a prisoner on a boat! "Tatay, could I come down now please?" he called out.
He was raring to help his father Ador on the ground floor. "Now you can, Teo. Watch your step." Teo shuddered, remembering how scared he was when the flood rushed in.
He and his father barely made it to the second floor! Once safe, everything changed---the lights went out. They heard no sounds except the lashing of water, howling of wind, and scrambling of neighbors.
