Chapter 6

ELBERETH POV

"So, umm I guess we need to talk" said Elrin looking over at me with worried expression. 

You think so Mr. Brainiac, I mean you did just almost kill someone right in front of me, so yeah I think we

definitely need to talk. Shock at what I had just seen was still coursing through me, so all I could manage in

response was a nod.

“Follow me then” he said while walking into the direction of the school courtyard.

I started to follow behind him, still trying to wrap my head around what I had just seen. Images started to

flash through my mind, Elrin’s eyes staring murderously at Erica, his super strength when he grabbed her

neck and almost lifted her two feet in the air, the way he snarled that he would kill her. Suddenly the fear of

the situation hit me and I wasn’t sure I wanted to around or alone anyone capable of that anger.  

Finally finding my voice I stopped and said, “You know what, I’m actually not feeling so well so I should just

head home and rest.”

Not giving Elrin time to respond I turned on my heel and started walking quickly to the school parking lot.

My nerves were getting the best of me and I got lost for a second, way to make a speedy getaway Elbereth!

Finally I managed to make my way to the parking and my car, when I saw a dark figure leaning against it.

"Do you need a ride home?" he asked. Who else would it be but Elrin…FML!

"No thanks, I think I can handle the drive” I said a bit rough, but hey what can I say this guy is stating to

really piss me off.

Clearly amused by my sudden anger, he began to smirk but stopped once he saw my hard expression. What

a freaking jerk!

“I really don’t think its smart to let you drive yourself home, I mean you did just say you were not feeling

well. What if you passed out behind the wheel? Being the upstanding citizen I am, I can’t allow you to drive

and put others and yourself in danger” he said with a slight smile.

“Haha you think you are so clever” I shot back. 

I stood there with my arms crossed over my chest, thinking bitterly to myself that the only thing I needed to

do is stay away from Elrin. Ever since this guy showed up, my life seems to be crashing down all around me.

First that little run in with Eric, forcing me to relive those painful memories.

Then that psycho Erica attacks me and threatens me to stay away from Erin, this guy is just more problems

then he is worth. Erica can have him at this point for all I care. Looking up to tell him that he can fuck off and

leave me the hell alone, I couldn’t help but see the despair in his eyes.

“Please, can you just please hear me out” he said giving me the most desperate, heartbreaking look.

Dammit, dammit, dammit. How could anyone possibly say no to that face!

“Fine” I said in exasperation. 

The days events had finally caught up with me and I was completely wiped out. My headache from this

morning rearing its ugly head and at this point I really did just want to curl up in my bed and rest. I honestly

didn’t care to be at school any longer, not like my parents would care and even notice if I bailed.

Anyways I think they are still traveling for work or are on holiday, somewhere in Italy the last I heard. You

got to love having no adult supervision in times like these. You can skip school and there will be no

consequences when you get home.

“I really do need to go home, my head is killing me” I said rubbing my temple with my fingers. 

He opened the passenger door for me to hop in, before closing the door he leaned in, crouching down to

meet my eyes.

“I know baby, and I will take you home but I really need to talk to you” he said before gently shutting the

door and coming in on the driver’s side.
