The kingdom was peaceful. The king was beloved by all for his kindness and down to earth nature, and it made the Warlock sick.
"I bet the 'King' has no idea how it feels to be betrayed", he spoke aloud.
Banished by the previous king, he had taken refuge in the forest, in an alcove surrounded by roses. He looked through his portal in the water to watch the king with his simpering little followers. He watched as they sat in the gardens, one with glasses reading to the other bespectacled one, while King Thomas practiced his sword fighting with his knight, while the mage looked on with slight caution.
"One of them here has got to be the weak link", he growled looking them over. Then, as it only last a few seconds, he saw on of them look at the king with slight envy, and smirked. "Well, looks like I've found the weak link in this little group.....".
He smiled, his reptilian eyes gleaming as his eyes stayed on the one figure, who's red sash burned bright as the surrounding roses.....
