Jill Ellis announced her resignation from the US National Team today.
As she put it: "I felt as if my efforts to make this team as great at the 2015 World Cup champion were not rewarded, and I feel that it is time to give somebody else the opportunity to lead this team to victory."
So. Now the USWNT doesn't have a head coach, and they are about to head into preseason.

She signs the contract, neatly putting her signature on the line at the bottom of the page. Everyone in the room is ecstatic. They all want Abby Wambach to be the head coach of the national team, and after Jill resigned she agreed.
"Thank you! We can't wait to work with you as a coach, considering you were a legendary player." The president of US Soccer says. "Thank you for reaching out to me with the opportunity to coach the team that was my family for so many years!" Abby replies.
This is going to be a great season.
