"Go blow your dad you mullet wearing ass hole!" Richie shouts, displaying two middle fingers, before scrambling off. Henry lays there, defeated. He breathes hard as Erin runs to him,
"I could have helped you!" She falls to her knees next to him and strokes the blood from his forehead,
"I didn't want you hurt." He winces as she lifts him onto her lap, "we lost."
"But they were the ones who ran." He looks at her, frowns and nods,
"Yeah. I guess."
"That means they're still afraid."
"Yeah-" he sits up and she picks gravel from his hair.
"I'll kill them. I'll kill them all." He spits,
"And I'll help-" she grins but is shortly cut off,
"No you won't." He glares at her, "I'm not putting you in any danger." He stands up wobbly, with Erin glued to his side,
"Never leave me." She holds his scar on hers and he nods, "we can take them together." He bites his tongue. She's the only person who makes him weak. The only person who can change him. Or so she thought. Erin helps him up the hill and into the car. He kicks Mike's bike and leaves it in the middle of the road, she hauls him into the car, "You know beating the crap out of a bike won't get you anywhere." He slumps beside her and smiles a little. She takes his face, "Lets get you cleaned up." Henry orders the boys to drive and they take him to Vic's house. He's not going anywhere near his father after this. The car pulls up on the drive and Vic makes double sure his parents are not home and gestures everyone inside. Erin snatches a towel and turns the shower on,
"I don't need to clean-"
"You're filthy." He sighs, "we can sob over this soon." She throws the towel at his chest and he raises his eyebrows. Vic and Belch sit on the couch, devouring snacks. Erin says it's comfort food. Henry throws his shirt at Belch's head and he flinches, they've all got wounds from this. They have to break the little club up. They're only going to get stronger. Erin shoves Henry into the shower and sits in the bath tub as he cleans the dirt and blood from his skin,
"Jerks." He hisses, "why did they fight back!" He pokes his head from the shower curtain and watches as Erin scoffs a bag of chips. He coughs and throws water at her,
"They fought back," she flicks a drip from her nose, "because there were more of them than there were of us-"
"That's never stopped them before."
"I know. But this time they've all seen something- odd. I could tell. They've fought something else recently. It got them all crazy." Erin sits up and looks concerned at Henry, he frowns. "Did you see the way home school looked into the reeds? Did you see how quickly new kid ran from the library? And they all came quite quickly from Denborough's garage a few weeks ago-"
"Why are you saying something?" He sniffs,
"Well it's not a someone. Or else they would have been beaten to a pulp by now." He nods.
"Yeah." He ties a towel around his waist and steps out of the shower,
"We will sort this" she smiles evilly and he kisses her pationately. Henry throws his hand through his hair and dries off. He dresses swiftly,
"I have a plan." He smiles and grabs her hand and takes her downstairs. "We're leaving. Now."
