I have known Near for much longer, but I would consider Light my friend, so this might be difficult. In the event that Light really is Kira, I would hate to answer this question saying he is "cooler."
But, Light and I have a connection between us that I have never had with Near, even though I grew up with him. Also, Near is slightly childish for me to call him cool.
