Poison
A seemingly painless drug
Known to numb your senses
But does it really?
I ask myself a thousand times
As the pain sears through my soul
Is it really numbing my senses?
It's only supposed to hurt a little part of me
And yet it courses through my veins
Until it reaches my lifeline
And cuts me off from the rest of civilization
And I'm all alone
Even when everyone surrounds me
The poisons's taken root
As the ghosts of my past haunt me
Everybody looks but nobody can see
The broken girl inside
Shards of her heart and her terrifying memories
Will I get a second chance at life
A start towards a new direction
Or will tragedy triumph over hope
And let this poison kill me
