[chapter three]

I fluttered my eyelids open, just as the throbbing off the back of my head began as well as the burning sensation running from my eyebrow down to my chin. I quickly sat up from the hay-bale I was lying on to see the early morning sunshine seeping through the cracks in the wooden planks covering the windows. I searched the empty room, only hay and guns littering the area.

"Hello?" I called out, standing up and making my way over to the double door.

"Hannah..." A voice whispered. "Outside," It continued.

The doors swung open, a gust of wind pushing my hair out of my face. I stepped out of the barn, the bright sun burning down on my figure. In the distance, I noticed Shakila holding Luna, laughing and swinging around with her hair flailing in the wind. Calum walked up beside her, smiling lovingly down at her, wrapping both his arms around her from behind and propping his chin on her shoulder.

I slowly made my way over, dragging my hands over the long grass.

Luke jumped down from one of the trees behind them, walking up beside Calum with a warm smile resting on his lips. Ashton and Michael followed close behind, appearing from behind a bush, holding their pistols in their firm grips with their arms wrapped around each others shoulders. They were both chuckling and chatting away like nothing else.

Once I was at least a few meters away, Craige stepped out from behind the forest and his gaze slowly moved to meet mine. A weirdly strange smirk played on his lips while he made his way over to me and wrapped one arm around my waist to pull me close to him as he used the other to brush my hair out of my face.

"You're so beautiful," He whispered. "Come with me," He then pulled away and he clasped his hand with mine and began to pull me towards the bush just before us.

We climbed over multitudes of rocks covered in moss, tree's that had fallen over and roots that had grown above the ground. A thick layer of mist lingered just above the floor, swirling around as it came in contact with Craige's and my own legs. He turned to look back at me, sending a wink my way which caused me to smile, blush deeply and divert my gaze to the ground.

"Here we are," He pointed to a checkered blanket lying on the ground with a straw picnic basket and flowers on top. "It's lame.. I know..." He sighed and turned to face me completely.

"No, no... It's amazing," I replied, grinning from ear to ear.

His mouth opened to reply, but nothing came out. His hold tightened, his eyelids blinking rapidly. A sudden pool of murky, crimson leaked from his lips. I took a step back, shock-horror greeting my features as an invisible knife pierced his stomach and sliced his neck like a naughts and crosses board. He fell to his knee's, blood covering every inch of his frail body.

"Craige... Craige!" I screamed.

"Don't. His already gone, Hannah," Someone wrapped their arms around my waist.

I looked up to see Luke looking down at Craige, an evil smirk playing on his features. His gaze flickered to me and suddenly he disappeared, becoming mist. I fell before Craige, our faces at the same level. I breathed heavily, observing his lifeless features.

His body suddenly collapsed lifeless to the ground, the liquid still continuing pooling out. I pushed my hair out of my face and  climbed onto Craige stomach, straddling him as I cupped his cheeks while his hazel eyes were large and mouth still wide open.
