03. | "Your jokes aren't funny."

"WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT BACK THERE?" Maya questioned with her arrival at their underground hideaway located in the middle of nowhere. The perfect place in which at some point in the past the blonde loathed.

"Weren't me and Maya suppose to be that distraction?" Josh asked, appearing into view.

Farkle nodded. "That's correct, but it seems someone else was aiming for that distraction too," he informed them.

"Hold on"-Maya began stripping off her dress-"so you're saying it wasn't our doing what happened back there?"

The brunette tossed Maya a pair of jeans along with a black t-shirt before quickly clamping her palm over the boy's old-fashioned glasses. She shook her head and said, "can't see that, genius."

Farkle mentally agreed, momentarily thinking about his girlfriend.

She pulled the t-shirt over her head before filling in the two empty holes with her arms. Slipping onto the jeans, Josh cursed under his breath.

"Don't girls take longer dressing up?" Josh whined. "My friend over there can't see, but I am no calendar."

          "Calendar?" Maya raised her brows.

Riley shook her head. "Your jokes aren't funny."

"The difference between me and a calendar is that a calendar has dates!" He began laughing at his own joke. "Get it? It's a good one, right?"

"That is just sad," Charlie spoke for everyone. Their gazes turned to him, watching him approach them with Brandon by his side. "And you might want to let Farkle see this, Riley."

The brunette removed her palm from his sight and the boy blinked a few times. She sheepishly smiled at him, hoping he knew she apologized for completely forgetting about that matter.

          He smiled in return.

Charlie then handed a photo printed in black and white on a piece of paper to the genius. He and Brandon had tried figuring out the message of the picture but were unable to succeed.

          Their only hope was Farkle.

Grabbing the photo, he carefully observed it. The picture didn't show much, but he was certain of something. He'd seen the place in which the unidentified female was when the picture was taken.

"Uh. . . do you think you're ready to move in back home, Maya?" Farkle asked, catching her off guard, her lips slightly parting at the thought of living with Lucas again.

She pressed her lips into a thin line before nodding confidently; ready to break him apart like he'd done to her.
