falling falling falling
down went something bright
a bird? a plane?
maybe a shooting star alight

it landed on a field
no human in sight
crops full grown all around
and no wild animals to fight

it assumed a body
and became a thing of our race
no gender, no sexuality
his heavenly light he erased

he wandered around the field
searching nooks and crannies
soon sun struck the horizon
it was beginning to get sunny

his memories gone
prior to the fall
he did not remember any event
nothing at all

he assumed a name: samiel
and went to the nearby town
he observed it was busy
every person tuned into the now

new york, the city that never sleeps
our hero sam walked through it
its countless streets and alleys
every billboard was lit

some people walked to giant buildings
others to small stores
samiel trudged on with his quest
with a strong driving force

sam found three silver coins
in the pocket of the coat he wore
he remembered the word money
he remembered what it was for

money was the backbone
of the society he wandered through
it made some people rich
but others depressed and poor

he slowly got tired
a result of his fall to our plane
so he sought transport
to another human place

but how? he wondered
how would i get to my destination?
he walked and sat on a bench
and thought in frustration

he saw three people
all dressed in ordinary clothes
they appeared to be waiting
for what? that he didn't know

the first one held out his hand
and one word he proclaimed
"taxi!" he yelled out
and a yellow vehicle quickly came.
