It was The Night
Riddled with Sparks
that flew upwards
into the derelict void
of a broken-hearted soul.
Reaching for the distant,
pinned down drops of yellow
-sometimes white-
stars
that seemed to be
just points on a map.
A map with no roads,
no highways or freeways,
no trails towards a destination.
And yet,
during The Night
Riddled with Sparks,
everything tried to fly anyway.
