I sat up and looked down at Richie, who was still blankly looking up at the clouds
Richie: You know, get married
Eddie: are you fucking proposing because this is not happening
He sat up and dug around in his pocket. He pulled out a gold band with an infinity sign on it
I started to hyperventilate and he put a hand on my back
Richie: woah clam down eds!
Eddie: I CANT FUCKING CALM DOWN BITCH YOUR PROPOSING AND IM 17?!?
R: I'm not proposing sweetheart...it's a promise ring
He smiled at me and that's all it took to calm me down. He took my hand and slid the ring on my finger.
Richie: my promise to you, is to always be by your side.
He kissed my hand and my heart melted
Eddie: Aw chee!
I tackled him into a hug and he chuckled. I left kisses all over his cheeks and then leaned in for one big one.
Richie: I was waiting for the right moment to give it to you. I thought right now was good
Eddie: Stop being so cute!
I kissed him again and ran my thumb against his cheek
Richie: did you really think I was gonna propose?
Eddie: Yeah, I almost had a heart attack just now if you didn't notice
Richie: would it be that bad marrying me?
Eddie: no! I'm just too young
Richie: I guess your right...
Eddie: Wait...you really want to get married?
Richie: well, yeah that's the point of a promise ring. I want to marry you one day Eddie Kaspbrak.
My cheeks turned pink and all my thoughts turned to mush
Richie: I want to give you all my love and know that at the end of the day, you'll be mine.
Eddie: Aw that's really sweet chee... I want to marry you one day too
I kissed him again but he held me tighter. We melted into a long kiss filled with smiles and little giggles. I twisted the cold metal band around my finger and broke the kiss for air
Richie: you won't change your mind?
I giggled and swiped my thumb over his lip
Eddie: never
Richie: Good, cause' I want you to always be mine
