after cleaning up the flower petals, jaemin went home with the excuse that he wasn't feeling well.

jeno let him go without a second glance.

once he was in the safety of his home, jaemin finally was able to let everything out. tears streamed down his face as he coughed up petals in between sobs. he gripped the edge of his dresser to keep himself upright as he was consumed by the burning of his throat, the pain in his stomach, the tightness of his lungs,

and the ache in his heart.

he looked into the mirror and couldn't recognize the broken boy who stared back at him.

it was too much.

this time, and forever.

using the last bit of strength he had, he let go of the dresser and slowly lowered himself to the floor to curl up on his side.

although no one was around to hear him, he choked out.

"it's over, lee jeno."

and it was.

jaemin died that night.

the flowers had suffocated him, and his stomach could no longer bear to process the poison he forced himself to choke down in front of others.

he was gone.
