"Sam! Get the hell up!" Dean yelled, banging his fist on Sam's bedroom door. It was an hour before school started and Sam was still asleep. "Sam!" Dean threw the door open, seeing Sam still asleep in his bed. "Get up, come on. We have school."

Sam stirred, coughing as he lifted his head. Dean frowned and pressed his hand to his younger brother's forehead, which was steaming hot.

"Oh shit, your forehead's really hot." Dean remarked, looking into his brother's eyes. "You should probably stay home."

"I need to go in tod-cough-today." Sam coughed, trying to sit up. Dean, however, pushed him back down.

"No, you are staying home. I will call you in as sick." Dean assured, pulling the blanket over Sam, who tried pushing it away. "I'll call myself in too, I can't leave you alone if you're this sick."

Dean grabbed a phone and called the school, informing that Sam was too sick to go to school and that Dean had to stay home with him. Dean then got a thermometer and took Sam's temperature, which was 102.6 degrees fahrenheit. (39.2 degrees celsius)

Dean quickly grabbed a wet rag and put it on Sam's forehead, then got him two full glasses of ice water to drink. At a quarter past noon, Dean saw Sam's phone light up with a text from Gabriel.

'Sam? Why aren't you in school?'

Dean unlocked Sam's phone (The two brothers always shared their passwords with one another) and sent a message in response.

'Hello Gabriel, this is Sam's brother Dean. Sam's sick with a fever and had to stay home.'

A second text quickly sent.

'Can I come over after school? I just want to make sure he's okay.'

'I guess. Just don't stay too long.' Dean typed.

After sending the text, Dean set Sam's phone down and fetched him another glass of ice water. Sam fell asleep shortly after one o'clock, and slept all the way until four, when Gabriel stopped by.

"Hello? Sam?" Gabriel called, knocking on the door. Dean walked over and unlocked the door.

"I'll give you an hour, okay? He needs rest though, so do not let him get out of bed, unless he needs to use the bathroom." Dean said sternly as he let Gabriel past him.

"Alright." Gabriel said with a nod, making his way to Sam's room. Sam was asleep in his room, and he stirred when Gabriel sat on the edge of his bed.

"Gabriel?" Sam moaned weakly, lifting his head up.

"Don't try and sit up, your brother said you need rest." Gabriel whispered, running a hand through Sam's hair. "How are you feeling?"

"Sick." Sam coughed. "I feel sick and weak, and I'm hot and cold at the same time."

"I'm so sorry you're feeling bad." Gabriel mused, wrapping both arms around Sam. "Hey, how 'bout this? If you're feeling better by Thursday, I'll take you out for ice cream."

"That sounds good." Sam coughed, closing his eyes.

"How high's your fever anyways?" Gabriel questioned.

"It was 102.6 this morning." Sam replied.

"Damn, that's almost as hot as you!" Gabriel exclaimed, and Sam buried his face in his pillow to hide how fiercely he was blushing.

"Could you not." Sam mumbled weakly. His eyes were barely open, glancing over at Gabriel, who had a grin on his face.

Gabriel rested a hand on Sam's cheek, gazing at Sam with an unmistakable fondness in his eyes. "If you're dating me, you should get used to my pickup lines and flirting. I use them all the time, even in situations where it's not completely appropriate." Gabriel said with a laugh. He tilted his head and ruffled Sam's hair with one hand.

Sam rolled over and looked up at Gabriel, who was still grinning. Gabriel leaned down and kissed Sam softly. The kiss lasted barely over two seconds before Gabriel pulled away.

"Gabriel, won't you get sick?" Sam questioned, looking at Gabriel with worry-filled eyes.

"Don't worry, there's a very small chance I'll get sick. My dad always said that it's actually hard to get a cold or fever by kissing someone who's sick." Gabriel explained, before kissing Sam again.

~~~~~
After an hour, Gabriel finally left, per Dean's request. Sam fell asleep less than half an hour after Gabriel left, and Dean replaced the rag on Sam's forehead.
Sam woke back up at 8 that night, and Dean fixed Sam some chicken soup to eat. Sam downed the entire bowl rather quickly, and fell asleep very soon after.
Dean finally fell asleep at 10 pm, after making sure Sam was asleep and well.
At 3 in the morning, Sam woke to an awful stomachache. He couldn't even describe it, it just felt so awful that it made him question life. He laid in agony for ten solid minutes, moaning and groaning, until Dean woke up from the commotion and came in to check on him.
"Sammy? You alright?" Dean asked worriedly, rubbing Sam's shoulder.
"Stomachache." Sam mumbled weakly, and Dean's expression turned to one of sympathy.
"Do you need to throw up?" Dean asked. Sam nodded his head and Dean grabbed his younger brother and helped him walk to the bathroom. Sam sat on the floor and began shivering so violently that his entire body shook. Dean grabbed a blanket and covered his brother, rubbing him on the back. "It'll pass, it'll pass. Just, maybe think of throwing up or something."
Sam nodded and a few minutes later, he threw up. Dean fetched a glass of water, towel and a cherry lifesaver. Sam gargled some water and spat it out, then wiped his mouth with the towel. As Dean flushed the toilet, Sam began to suck on the cherry lifesaver to get the taste of throw up out of his mouth.
Dean then held onto Sam for a few minutes, until Sam had completely stopped shivering. Dean then helped Sam back into bed, got him a new rag and sat by his bed until Sam had fallen back asleep. Content, Dean went back to his own room and soon fell asleep at a quarter to 4 in the morning.
